as you already said there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog . keep in mind that dander AND dog saliva can cause allergies. there are plenty of breeds that produce less dander call some breeders and (take people with allergies) to visit these breeders spend a good amount of time at each breeder to see what kind of reaction they will have with the dog/puppy....note: i have asthma and allergies to animals (dogs, cats ,horses etc) from severe and not so bad.. when i went to a friends house that had to adult shih tzu's i almost immediatly broke out in hives and sneezing etc and have had the same reaction to poodles. but again not all dogs bug me , i am a breeder and work in a shelter and own a petfood store so im around dogs all the time but it depends on the dog really , some set me off some dont but again i know some people that cant even go near any breed of dog. so just take it slowly and introduce the person/people with asthma/allergies to each breeder and breed you are intrested in and see how they react.. make sure you stay there atleast a hour . and make sure they play and touch each puppy/dog . good luck!!!

There are various coat types that are said to produce fewer allergens: single-coated dogs, who do not have a thick undercoat; dogs whose coat continues to grow, like human hair, rather than shedding regularly; and hairless dogs. These breeds usually shed less dander and hair and are, therefore, considered hypoallergenic. However, even hairless dogs can produce enough dander to affect a highly allergic person.

Most labradoodles are hypo-allergenic (low to very low shedding and no dander). A first generation (F1) may be hypo-allergenic but since they are 50% lab, it is never a guarantee. Get a F1B (F1xpoodle) which is 75% poodle. Great dogs. e-mail me if you want to see photos or for breeder recommendations.

I have Schipperkes.
They are very smart, can be difficult to train, because they are indepdent thinking, but there coat doesn't have a doggie odor and I have asthma and have 4 schips.
I don't reccommend them for the first time dog owner, but they are pretty close to hypo-allergenic and certainly not a poodle. Thank god.

no, some dogs are called hypo-allergenic (and are not) yet papillions are not and individuals are allergic to the spit with get's on the hair witch sheds and receives to people and triggers their hypersensitivity's so dogs with hair no longer fur help yet nonetheless all dogs will set off hypersensitivity's. wish i helped
