I read, often, that "my dog is sick, what do I do?"
"Can I give my dog chocolate?"
"My dog has diarhea, what should I do?"
"How do I potty train my dog?"
These are basic questions that every dog owner shoud know. If you think your dog is sick, don't wait, take them to the vet. Don't wait for people here to tell you to go to the vet.
Geez. If you own a dog, get some basic knowledge.

lol. I wish people would grow a brain too. At least its an easy 2 points, GO TO THE VET. I copy and paste that when I get tired of typing it.
As for the potty training a dog, might I recommend some light reading? Buy a book from Barnes & Nobles. I've been wanting to answer with that for a while now, but have been refraining from doing so.

Agreed, I have seen too many stupid questions about dog behavior and what they should do about certain situations, and if you own a dog you should be reading as much as you can about their behavior as animals, as dogs, as breeds, etc. People also assume too many things, and shouldn't be on here asking other people about something that they could know absolutely nothing about, because many responses are opinions, not the correct answers.
If they have a computer they should be looking online for the answers to their questions and they would get far greater answers than that of the basic knowledge of others.

Tell me about it... I swear people are so ignorant about dogs nowadays its a wonder they are still alive. I cant understand how idiotic some people can be it drives me crazy.... I have 3 dogs now and trust me before I ever got one I had a lifetime of experience with dogs and years of collected knowledge that I purposely accumulated so as to better understand mans best friend and the first domesticated animal... Youd think after 15,000 years humans would have learned a thing or 2 about dogs, I can tell you that dogs have learned about us and they can understand us perfectly... then an ignorant person comes along and says a dog is stupid.. meanwhile its their fault because they dont have a clue how to understand a dog themselves.. If I hear, meet or read one more person who doesnt understand why their dog wont come to them after they themselves unwittingly train the dog not to come I am gonna blow a gasket... I mean how hard is it to reason that if you call a dog to you and then punish it or yell at it or give negative attention.. it isnt going to learn to come to you it will learn to avoid you. GrRR people are so braindead sometimes.. dont even get me started on the whole vet thing... I mean really would you deny another human medical treatment?? NO of course not then why do it to a dog???

Seriously, it drives me crazy when I sign on and see some of these ridiculous questions. People obviously dont do much research before they get a dog and that is why so many end up in shelters. Im so sick of people asking questions like "i know nothing about breeding but i want to breed two dogs".

Cheers to that, I was just thinking about posting something to that effect myself. The ones that crack me up are the people that automatically assume that the dog has something REALLY wrong with it (and probably don't even own a dog) and give a worse case senario (like, it's dying). Gee, that's going to make the owner feel so much better!! Just because they are dumb enough to ask and not call the vet immediately doesn't mean they deserve and answer that is just going to make them worry even more.

True. Unfortunately, some people have children and have no idea what they are doing either. I believe any decision to take care of another life fully dependent on you should not be taken lightly and should be an educated, knowledgeable decision. Child or dog, fish or cat...etc.

cheers to that!
unfortunately there are too many people out there who own dogs simply for the novelty of having a dog, and don't understand that it's a real commitment and responsibility........
