IVE COME ACOSS THIS ON A WEB SITE "Our pups are sold under a "Limited Registration." This does not mean our puppies are not registered with the AKC or that our pups are less valueable. It only means that if new owners later decide to breed their puppy, the litter from that breeding would not be eligible for an AKC registration. This is our way of protecting the pedigree of our puppies." DO WE DO THIS IN ENGLAND WITH SOME BREEDERS ANDTHE KENNEL CLUB? it doesnt sound fair I think, do you?

Are there any substances in food that can cause allergic reactions to dogs? If so, what are the most common? And to what dogs? When my mom was little, she used to own a parrot who loved Haitian cuisine. Especially when the food was disgusting or when they ran out of bird food, my mom would give it to the parrot and to her dogs and horses, who wouldn't eat the nuts, crackers etc. anyway. The parrot died a couple of months later and the cause was unknown since there was no such thing as a veterinarian in the old days. The dogs and the farm animals survived.

I have a 3 year old chihuahua miniature dashund mix and she is about 5 lbs. She is such a picky eater. I give her hard dog food and she will maybe eat like 2 peices at a time. If i give her soft canned food she will take a couple bites and be done. And she will not eat dog treats at all! I was just wondering if this is normal for a small dog like her or what should I do about it? I have tried everything... The yummiest dog foods even she wont eat it.

he just drags him self and wont leave the yard. i took him to pets mart yesterday and he did pretty good but when at home he wont leave the front yard with out me dragging him. he also gets car sick, he starts drooling and throwing up in the car. he seems to have a solid temperment, hes very friendly with strangers and shows no axiety. he just wont go for walks and gets car sick. hes a four and a half month od american pit bull. i've been haveing him wear his leash around the house and i've even tried walking him with my other dogs so he gets the pack mentality and it doesent work. like i said was much improved when walking at petsmart yesterday.

I've had a dog before when i was 6 years old. It was a rotweiller and it was very aggressive and it always made a mess but i still took care of him, I had to give him away cause my uncle needed it for a watch dog (someone kept on breaking into his house) sadly my dog died after 1 year being with my uncle i think he had cancer or something. Anyways now i want a dog again but my mom is so stubborn and won't let me my dad's fine with it and he's saved so much money for me to have a dog but my mom still won't budge. I don't really see the problem our furniture isn't that nice cause of my sister (she messed it up) we don't have money problems, we have a huge backyard and frontyard. Can anyone give me advice on how to make my mom say 'YES' for letting me get a dog.

Every time while in heat my toy poodle female would not accept male. The timing is right and we tried different males but she just would not let the guy finish the job and start biting him and then runs off. I never heard of any dog that does not breed!!! Anyone knows why?

I adopted a 1 yr old lab mix from the Human Society about a 1 1/2 weeks ago. She is a very very sweet dog, acts like a scared little mouse but will sit on your lap or cuddle beside you and even lick your arm. She is naturally good natured... but I really think she was abused. She terrified to go outside. I bought a harness.. she will sometimes walk a little with my other dog but for the must part she makes you drag her and walks with her head down to the ground and kinda crouched for take off. As soon as we get to the house she runs full speed to get back in. Once in the house she will either run in my room where she has been or if i make her stay in the house (hoping to get her to investigate) she will sit smack against the couch and will not move all day. She will NOT eat if you are around or watching her. She eats only in the middle of the night when she knows no one is paying attention, and will eat the whole bowl!!. Any suggestions on helping her come out of her shell???

I shouldn't be asking this but just in case....I have two 6.5 month old pit males. I'd say that one of them is some what hyperactive most of the time, and the other one is very mellow (most of the time). The problem is that for some reason, every time I go to my dogs' room to feed them at night, the mellow one will be the only one around. This has only happened about 3 times, though. He will sit and stare at me for a few minutes, and all of a sudden he will start barking at me. I start talking to him, so that he knows that I'm his master and shouldn't be doing that to me. I don't know why he does that, but every time he does that to me, I get freaked out. I don't know if he doesn't recognize me at times or something, or if he only wants my attention.

My beagle basset mix that I got from the pound over a year ago (he is about three years old) bit me last night on the hand. At the time he had been playing with the other two dogs in my house and they had all been going after a hoof. My dog had the hoof and was crouched over it and growling at another dog who was approaching for the hoof. I did not approve of his reaction so I went over to pick him up and remove him from the situation. As I touched him he turned and bit me on the hand.

When I first got the dog an identical situation occurred. I have had no problems with him between the two incidents, he is not aggressive towards food, often my other dog will push him out of the way to eat his food and he wonders back to me looking confused.

Is this a situation I should be worried about or is this instinct taking over? The dog is incredible docile most times and even if you spray it with water he cowers back to you until you pet him and let him know its all right.

I have a pure bred "pit bull" and she was recently in heat. We decided to breed her with my uncle's dog (also a pure bred pit bull), it was successful. Although, a few days later, a German Shepard jumped over the fence and mated with her. I read a lot of answers about similar questions. Some say yes and some say no. Have any of you asked a vet or someone with breeding experience? Thanks.
