IF she bites him then runs off then she is not ready yet. The timing is very important. Her prime will be 10 to 12 days. To check when she is ready, run your hands down her back towards her butt.. if she stands for you and crock her tail then she is very ready. If you did all of that and she still does it..It may never happen. What you could do when the male starts to mount her, hold her still. I had to do that a few times. Matter in fact I had to do that the other day.. the female didn't want any part of my stud. So I had the owner hold her still and I brought my male to her. It took two seconds and the matting began. I would try holding her still next time you try.

Some bitches simply dont take to males,do not attempt to mate her again it's really cruel when owners force there bitches to mate, this causes nervousness, agresion and a whole host of other pschological disruption, its basically rape.My aunt had the same problem with there yorkshire terrier and after 3 attempts with different stud dogs they gave up.The reason why some bitches dont take to males can be stem from there puppyhood, was your poodle well socilised?Just accept that you wont be having pups from her,its not the end of the world.

Maybe she is not yet ready to mate or, does not like your choice of male. Perhaps she could get to know her male counterpart prior to coming into season and then she might not be so shy.

Listen to China she's bob on, however, another reason could be that she just doesn't fancy the dog, it does happen occasionally you know, but it is rare cos usually when they're ready they just want to get their rocks off.

Is she too young?
I have a minature poodle, and he's been castrated and he still humps!
Is she in heat? Perhaps she may just not be into the whole thing!
If it carries on, i would advice visiting a vet for a check up and asking if all is normal! Should happen at somepoint, she might not be fully hormonal at the moment! Give her space and time!

Either it's the wrong time for HER (dogs don't read the books), or some females just don't want to be bred. She may also have a physical problem, like a stricture.

This is a difficult one!! It could be perhaps that your ***** is not quite ready, how old is she. Bitches usually stand to be mated for only a short period of time. You should keep fetching the male everyday during the season.
