I shouldn't be asking this but just in case....I have two 6.5 month old pit males. I'd say that one of them is some what hyperactive most of the time, and the other one is very mellow (most of the time). The problem is that for some reason, every time I go to my dogs' room to feed them at night, the mellow one will be the only one around. This has only happened about 3 times, though. He will sit and stare at me for a few minutes, and all of a sudden he will start barking at me. I start talking to him, so that he knows that I'm his master and shouldn't be doing that to me. I don't know why he does that, but every time he does that to me, I get freaked out. I don't know if he doesn't recognize me at times or something, or if he only wants my attention.

i don't think its good that he barks at u although he may just want his food NOW it can turn bad and thats not just with pits its any dog....first are they getting a long walk everyday????also food aggression is not to be taken lightly! ever time a new stray or when our dogs where pup i would sit with them for feeding time and put my hand by/ in thier food...take thier bowl and give it back....(do this it a stick first if u think u may get bit)....also my dogs must lay in the other room while i make their food then sit for thier food and they must stay until i tell them to get it... then i some times will step in and make them move back from their food with my leg and then i will back off when they look at me and are away from the food. when a pack feeds the alfa female and male get to eat first followers must wait.

If you're nervous he's going to sense that. I would call a professional dog trainer to help you out. Not just because you have pit bulls, but your own dog is making you nervous. You should not be afraid of your own dog.
Are you giving them enough attention? Take them for walks. Do more with them. Do they need more time outside? Fence in the yard. Definitely get them neutered, if they're not already, a full male dog is more aggressive than a fixed one.

First you should know that pits are not bad dogs. They can be WONDERFUL PETS. They are quite often animal aggressive as that is the way they have been bread BUT animal aggression dose not equal HUMAN aggression! Sounds like your dog is just happy to see you after being locked in a room all day. With 2 males you NEED to have them neutered right away and NEVER leave them uncreated together when you are not with them. It is recommended that if you have more that one they be of oppisite sexes. I would also say you should get these pups into some training now to help build the bond between you and them!

Also, to add to Debs answer...
You need to establish the fact that you ARE the alpha. And they will do what you tell them with proper training. I am not one for pit bulls.... And do not know much about the breed. But I did train seeing eye dogs and police dogs for 6 years, and showing your Alpha is number one. Or the dogs will walk all over you.

once again....i am a pit bull owner and breeder...they r sooo cool..it sounds to me like ur dog is acting out..maybe he/she jealous of the attention the other one gets and wants ALL of ur attention...make sure to always call the dogs name when approaching the dog,and me myself would have a fly swat or a belt in my hand and tell the dog NO when he started growling or barking and let them know who the boss is..mine r so trained when i approach mine they lay their heads on the ground and wait for me or hubby to tell them they can get up!!good luck and don't give up!!they r really great dogs!!

Pit Bulls are wonderful dogs, don't believe anyone who tells you different!!! Maybe he just feels cornered. I have a pit lab mix and if anyone looks him in the eyes he barks and growls. I think it's just something that bugs them. Try feeding out side or in a bigger room.
hope this helps and good luck!!!

that means two things to me he wants to play with you or he just straight up doesn't like you. I had a cocker spaniel that did the same thing to me but he attacked me so I suggest you make the move first, don't wait until it wants to hurt you, you do something about it right now.

He may be telling you to hurry up. He knows you are coming in to feed him, and he is hungry. However, if it makes you feel better, I have a slightly food agressive dog, and we crate her for her meals. She has gotten to the point that she will run into her crate at meal time.

you need to be assertive and just tell him to stop it. and if he doesnt, take the food away until he'll calmly lay there and wait. eventually he'll learn not to do that. if you show any fear, your dogs are going to take advantage of that. you're the boss. remember that.
