Dogs can go into heat anytime from 6 months to 18 months. Just check her from time to time. If her vulva is starting to swell she is coming in heat. You may notice she may start to "hump" other dogs or toys.

They usually come back into heat about every 6-8 months after the first heat,

Yes it is normal.. some dogs will be like clock work and come in heat at 6 months. I had one dog come in at 7 one at 11. I have one that has never came into heat and she is 13 years old. If she doesn't come into heat about the time she should come in again. I would take her to the vet to get check out. It is better to rule out things that may be going wrong in her body. I hope things turn out right for you.

We had a boxer some time back (in laws made us get rid of her) she didnt go into heat until she was about 1 year and 2 months. I am not sure if it matters on the breed. But the whole blood spots on the carpet was quite disgusting. It just dripped all the time. ach

Many dogs are older than 12 months before their first heat. My puppy girl turned 11 months old last week and she hasn't had it yet. Her momma (who I also own) was 12 months, 3 weeks before her first cycle.
Generally speaking, larger dogs usually take longer than smaller dogs. Like some girls (humans), some girl dogs mature slower physically.

If you are not a breeder get her spayed. Most vets recommend spaying prior to first heat. (about 9 months.) Often heat can be delayed, it all up to the pup.

It depends. Usually, dogs go into heat when they are 11 months old. If they dont, it isn't normal and you should consult a vet

It's not normal, but it's not unheard of at all. It's possible she's not mature enough, that she's having silent heats, or that something is wrong. Bring your dog to the vet and while you are there, set up a spay appointment.
