My Jack Russell Marli just gave birth to 4 puppies (one died) and we were planning on keeping one. Well, I've heard that you should not keep two females due to their same sex aggression trip. But the thing is, we really want to keep one of the female puppies. Is that dangerous?

my dog has been very healthy for the past 10 years, she has never had to go to the vet because she was sick, only for shots and checkups. Well recently she had been yelping so we took her to the vet and she has some problems with her liver, certain levels of things that afftect her liver are way higher than they should be. Now i might sound paranoid but we jsut got new neighbors and our neighbor before hated her because she barks a lot, well this new neighbor isnt friendly and doesnt speak with us and i think maybe he poisoned her, but what kind of poisons can affect a dogs liver?

I've heard both good and bad about him. My cousin watches every episode and says that he taught him everything he knows (but his reference is questionable; Chris has a terribly behaved boxer). Many of the people on yahoo seem to think he has all the answers, but from the two episodes I have seen, he seems to be putting back dog training many years. There are many articles I've read that seem to say the same thing. I'm just wondering what's fact and what's fiction.

help at all to keep these jackholes from breeding these dogs to fight?

My favorite dog is a Dachshund! I have a female dapple 9 weeks old one, named Casey. I've always wanted one.

I love all big dogs also! I am known as the "Dog Listener" around my town! This one neighbor has a Cane Corso dog who really doesnt like anyone but family. But one day she had an emergency and didnt want to leave the dog alone, so she asked me to come over and would leave the dog locked in the bedroom. Well I opened the door and put a day she had up in front of the door so she could see me, she growled and I just sat there. Eventually she layed down by the gate and put her nose throught the holes. Her owner came back and was amazed!

I've also found a couple stray cats/dogs/puppies and nursed them back to health and found wonderful homes for them.

So, whats you're favorite breed and why?
Any rescue stories?

Hope you like this question!

Today after her "interview" at the Doggie Daycare and Boarding place - my Doberman has a puncture wound from a bite (all dogs must have up to date shots to be there - so no disease worry) - on her back right quarter. It is angled, no blood - light pink mostly and darker pink at the end - I would say over 1/4" but not 1/2" deep. She keeps licking it ...
Question - should I take her to the vet for stitches or let her continue to lick it and clean it out with Peroxide?

Thanks

On my way home today, there were several teenage boys at the corner, they had 2 dogs: one pit bull and what looked like a pit mix. Anyway, two of the guys were hitting the dogs and egging them on to fight. Well, being the person i am, i pulled over, got out of the car with cell phone in hand and asked them why were they doing that to the dogs, one of them called me a b@*!?# and i lost my mind.! I cussed them out and called the police. I understand that technically it was none of my business but morally i knew it was wrong. So, can i plz get some feedback, because it's still bugging me. Thanks to all!

She only seems to have it when she gets up in the morn and sometimes when she's been lying too long. Otherwise it goes away pretty quickly. The Vet said it could not be arthuritis,. She's too young (will be 2 in couple months). Seems to be in her hip.

But if I do have food she wags her tail and trys to lick me

She doesn't get the food each time she does that so why does she keep on whining for food.

Hi! my dog is scratching his back lately. Last night we couldn't sleep because of it. We rubbed some alcohol on his back and it seemed like the perfect remedy... he didn't scratch anymore. I was wondering if rubbing alcohol is save for dogs?
