what is the average price range for a chihuahua bought from a breeder (not a pet store, not an animal shelter, and deffinetly not a puppy mill) ??? thanx

I have a 3 year old Beagle, and I've never really had her on any heartworm prevention,but we went to the vet today and the doc says he strongly recomends putting her on some because I live in an area that has lots of mosquitos because of the warm/moist air. Am I going to be able to buy some at like walmart or somewhere like that, or is that something I would need to buy elsewhere(like a website or vets office)? Does anyone have any recomendations on places to go for some cheaper ones(because the kind I've seen are pretty pricey) or what kind I should use? Thanks to anyone who can help me!!

i have lived with my boyfriend for 5 years & i had my dog for 4 years now. i always wanted a dog. he always wonders why people luv animals so much. since he never had a dog in his life until he met me. he always questions me about my dog that i luv him so much... i luv my boyfriend too but i can;t seem to fiqure him out sometimes. my dog luvs him too. i wish he could understand how much animals need love too. plz help me... thank you

My 2 yr old husky will not stay inside. He hates it. So unfortunatly he's an outside pootch. I noticed that his eyes are pink around the outsides and his once black nose is cracked and is now pink. Is he sick, or did he get into a fight? He's eating and acting normal, but it is wintertime.

How can I make my already fixed male dog stop marking his territory on everything from my pillow to the curtains to anything else below knee level. He isn't going to the bathroom but simply marking. He's been fixed for 3 years. There are 2 other male dogs in the house but none of them mark on anything and they are not trying to outdominate one another.

Okay, i am 14 and all i want is a little maltese puppie, my mom said it would be okay, but my dad said no, i dont know WHY he said no but he said it was'nt beacuse how good i am, it was a diffrent reason.Should i tell him that Malteses dont shed, its free beacuse it is at a kennel and people that are allergic to dogs wont be allergic to Maltese beacuse they have hair MOT fur?? It is all true, so should i take another chance and tell him that even if he may get mad????

so my birthday is in one month and I just want a shih tzu I wrote an essay on them (no not for school) just to show my parents how much I care they know that I am responsible enough because I watch my brother every day for an hour after school I do all my chores and today I cleaned the house without being asked.
I think that I am getting to them now how much I love them because my Mom is becoming softer. But I am still working on my Dad. They know that I am very good with animals because my aunt has 2 shih tzus and I just love them to death and take care of them 24/7 when they come to my house or I go up to my aunts.
I will never lose intrest in a dog because I have been dreaming about a shih tzu for about 1 year now and I cut every single shih tzu add out of the classified section of the news paper everyday.
I would train it and care for it and even pay its vet bills and for all the things it needs!

please help me make my birthday wish come true by answering this question!!

I never had a dog . But now I do its a Mexican Chihuaha and terrier mix. Hes about 1yr. old. I'm trying to understand him a little. For one thing hes a very finicky eater. Sometimes he withdraws from my husband and me. This is so much unlike him because he has consistently been socialable. We noticed he seems to shake a lot when he feels scared or insecure. Does anyone have similar experiences with their dog?
