I took my 2 male 6 month old labs into to have them nuetered. One was 15 pounds heavier than the other. The lighter weight one died before getting on the table, then the bigger one was done and is just fine. Is it common for them to have a reaction and die from anasthesia or should I be concerned that my vet may have committed an error, like gave the wrong anasthesia to the wrong dog. I was told that he went into seizures and convulsions and they could not control them. I have used this vet for four years with my older dog but have not had to have any procedures like this done, so I am skeptical about what actually happened.

She has been in for a while she did one big wee then seemed to stop more than usual for small wees. Do you think she may have an infection she seems fine in herself how will I know. I am worried as this is not her normal rountine. I am on my own and have no one to ask I know I can ring the vet and will if it carries on I just thought someone could help on here first as it may be nothing. Thanks for your time.

I am in need of an original, not so common, cute name for my pug puppy. I don't like names like Honey, Rover, Pugsley, Freckles, Socks, etc... I like human names. Not so much a pet name. Please help.

I had a Shih Tzu of 10 yrs, which just recently passed away off Kidney Failure. We noticed that about a month before it passed away it was shivering and was not very active....The vet did not say his condition was serious & gave him some treatment, but SHOCKINGLY it passed away like a week later...Just an advise 2 all dog owners...if u notice ur pet acting weird dont hesitate 2 bring it 2 the vet 4 a thorough check up & do go 4 a second opinion!!

I grew up with two dogs. Mother and daughter. Two years ago my 16 year old furbaby came down with pyometra. This is bacteria in the uterus, due to her not being spayed. I put her down after being talked into it because I did not want her to suffer. The euthanasia was painful for her. She cried out when they gave her the first shot and she tried to bite the vet. She never did that before. I have been questioning myself ever since. I wonder if I did the correct thing. I was against eutanasia and put her down anyway. I'm wondering if I betrayed her or scared her. I think about her always and now her daughter is 15. She will be 16 in October. I watched her be born and do not know what to do when the time comes. I constantly think what could have been done. I should have had her spayed, I should have spend more time with her, and I should have not scared her. Should I have put her down. It just goes on and on for me. I have such a hard time dealing with this. Any advice???

Hello, I have Puppy that was born on Jan 1, 2007 and is 8 weeks old... He has already received his first set of shots and dewormings, but he is teething, and I am scared if I keep blocking the kitchen and leaving him there like we do now, he will bite on the cabinets and other things. I would also like him to be outside in order for him to get used to going to the bathroom outside. Is he too young to learn this? Seems now he goes where ever. Even though we have bought the WEE WEE PADS and the spray to make them go in a certain place. So if he gets used to going on grass and is entertained by this, he will be happier. Please help... Thanks... OH... Its a Golden Retriever... and his name is ODIN...

We currently have a shih tzu/bichon frise mix, and we're looking at getting him a playmate toward the end of the year when we move from an apartment to a house. We've encountered a couple of chihuahuas lately and rather like the little guys, but I'd love to hear from people who have owned them and have more experience with the breed. I know socialization at a young age makes a big difference as to whether they tolerate other dogs and humans later in life.

We have JRT puppies that are 4 1/2 weeeks old . Last saturday we took them to our vet to get wormed. Since then they have lost their desire to eat, they shake, we are having to feed them with a syringe. Two of them are doing better, one is getting worse and one has died. The vet can't see us for 2 days. What could possibly be wrong ? The only thing that we have found to help is egg and crushed aspirin. Thanks for any help!!!!!!! WORRIED SICK!!!!!!!!

My 17 year old Bearded Collie has been unwell the last year, she had an operation 9 months ago to remove a cancerous tumour. She has athritis and is wobbling and falling down alot, and losing weight, she picks up her tennis ball but has no energy to play with it and just drops it back down, she is always sleeping and looks sad. I have had her since she was a puppy, i dont want to put her down, but i am worried i am being selfish and that i am causing her to live in pain. Any Advice?

I am 61, always had my hair cut regularly but never had the bottle to have anything else done.. Now, it's very grey, dull, lifeless and has no body. It's baby fine and difficult to do anything with. How do I choose a hairdresser that won't just treat me as 'another client' during a hard days graft. I really need some advice from someone who actually cares what I look like and cares about me.
