How about "Cutie"? Pugs are so ugly that they are adorable. Kind of like "Beauty" and the Beast. Or "Angel"? I don't consider these names inhuman, they are endearing and loving. Also, Aster or Astrid; Eva or Ava, Abby, Jacki, Maggie, Mandy, Stella, Millie, Ginger. What does she look like? What does she like to do? Look in a names book -- they have them at the library and some of the books will define the names so you can see what might fit.
It's probably best to keep the name in two syllables because it's easier for the dog to get accustomed to it. Good Luck! I'd like to see the dog. I'll bet she's really cute!

My brother-in-law's female pug is named Millie. I have a female Boston Terrier named Lucy. Not the same breed, but similar personalities.

I once met a french bulldog whose owners had named her Pita, or what about Pia-those are human-ish sounding names. Have you thought about designer names-like Dolce (means sweet), or Coco(as in Chanel) My best friend named her pug Nelly-it suits her perfectly.
