I have always had poodles in the house and they are wonderful. They don't shed and they love kids when raised around them. I also think Westies are really good companions and they also don't shed. They are really laid back and affectionate without being clingy. My husband didn't really like dogs either so poodles and westies have been easy to train not to get on furniture. I love Yorkies and my daughter has 2 of them but they are more rambunctious and they do shed some. Also poodles and westies are much cheaper than Yorkies (at least where we live)

Hi! I have severe asthma and really bad allergies, but I still love dogs. I am also a stay-at-home mom with small children. I have tried several different breeds and the ones that seemed to work best for me are my miniature poodles and silky terriers. Neither shed and are typically oderless. Although they don't shed, this doesn't mean it won't bother your allergies at all....it will just bother your allergies less. People are allergic to dog dander, not the fur. The reason that non-shedding dogs are somewhat better is because additional dander is released into the air every time a hair falls off of a dog. A non-shedding dog just releases less dander. I perfer the miniature poodle more than any other dog because they're highly intellegent and relatively easy to housebreak and they are the right size to play with your kids. Plus, there are many colors to choose from and your can trim the hair as short as you like. They even travel well. Our poodles LOVE going on a road trip. Mini poodles will even fetch a ball for you, it comes very natural to them. Having a mini poodle is like having another child. :) I wish you luck! Have fun choosing your new family friend!

Get a Hypoallergenic dog. See list below or read on...

What does "hypoallergenic" really mean?
To be hypoallergenic is to have a decreased tendency to cause allergies. Hypo means less, not none. Hypoallergenic dog breeds will still produce allergens, but because of their coat type, will typically produce less than others. People with severe allergies and asthma will still be affected by a hypoallergenic dog.

There is no such thing as a non-allergenic dog.

What coat-type makes the difference?
There are two coat types that produce a lesser amount of allergens: single-coated dogs, who do not have a thick undercoat, and hairless dogs. However even hairless dogs can produce enough dander to to affect a highly allergic person.

Hair-less Dog Breeds
Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless)
American Hairless Terrier
Chinese Crested (Hairless)
Peruvian Inca Orchid
Some of Single-Coated Dog Breeds
Chinese Crested (Powder Puff)
Poodles (all sizes)
Schnauzers (all sizes)
Portuguese Water Dog
Bichon Frise
Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier
Coton de Tulear
Kerry Blue Terrier
West Highland White Terrier
Bedlington Terrier

What can I do to keep my allergies managable?
There are plenty of things you can do to reduce any allergic reaction you may have.

Reducing the overall allergens in your home is one way. Using a a large room air purifier in the main areas of your home will help, as will investig in a good vacuum.

We have two Miniature Schnauzers, Baby Girl and Lil' Man, and they are amazing with everyone, but especially young kids. They are so patient with little ones and protective, when our 2 year old granddaughter is over (often!) they are always within a few yards of her, not crowding just keeping an eye on her. They weren't trained to do this, it's just natural. They are smart, easy to train, they love to play hard, and they don't shed! They are also cute as can be. Both of ours are purebreds we adopted as puppies from Rescues. Do some research, I'm not certain if the lack of shedding means no allergic reactions. I am sure that this breed is one of the best. Good Luck!

Well, we have a mini rat terrier. They are normally good with children and I've never heard of them causing problems for people with allergies. He weighs about 8 pounds. The females usually weigh a little less. Also they say that Chihuahua's (I think that's how you spell it, I'm not sure) are good for people with allergies and asthma. I know that my dog likes to cuddle, if you can believe that. Most dogs don't like that, but mine does.

Hello,
A yorkie is the greatest small dog to have for in the house, they do not shed or have any dander. you can keep them cut short in a puppy cut and the are so loving and loyal. I had 3 at one time and they love everyone. As far as I know they cause no allergies whatsoever.

That is really sad to hear! Ask your parents if you can bring him inside if you crate him. You can get a crate and keep in it your room. The dog would be happier and it sounds like you would too. A dog should be a part of your family. Which means allowed to live inside with you. Why do they feel like they do?  Good luck!

I have a poodle of six years and is wonderful with my kids. Poodles do not shed fur, so that will not upset your husband's allergies. I have had poodles in the past and they are great with kids, they are very affectionate and are very intellegent. The poodle I have is considered a toy poodle, that is the smallest breed of the poodle family. So I would recommend a poodle.
Best of luck to you.

Bishoodle is raer becuase it is a mutt not a breed.

Any way. First you would have to find a dog that can be ok with little kids (Kids can hurt a small dog) I would say get a lhaso apso they are about 15lbs have human like hair compared to other dogs and a hardy little dogs they are non alergenic. A yorkie or chiuaha only get about 5 lbs and can get easily scared of little kids and get hurt easily.

If his allergies are triggered by one dog, then it will be the same for all. You might check to see if the minature poodle sheds much. This is one that I think may be the best.
