My vet wouldn't give me a straight answer. My dog got attacked by three other dogs and has about a 2 inch gash on his hip and I can't get him to the vet until my husband gets home. Right now he's sleeping comfortably in my room on his bed, I just hope he's ok.

I have this dog he is just wonderful when he is in the house, on the leash, in the car, with kids; but the second he gets loose you are not getting him back. You can call him nice, hold out a cheeseburger, yell. he'll just stop for a second look at you then turn around and trot off. I have spent all morning chasing that dog and now I am home and mad. Will a shock collar work? Like, when he turns around give him a zap or should I just put him down or what? I don't know what to do. I live in town and he is trotting through peoples yards and I know I am going to get phone calls but how embarassing is it when you go over there and the dog will not come. Anyone else had this problem what did you do? There has to be something, and yes he is nuetered he is a huskey/lab mix. 5 yrs old

for no apparent reason she flips out especially towards female family members, she gets very aggresive biting ankles and locking onto trouserlegs. her eyes bulge and go red, when we restrain her she starts to yelp and cry as if in pain. in extreme cases we tend to muzzle her for a few minutes, which does calm her down but she does'nt seem to be able to associate this with her bad behaviour. the vet has given her a clean bill of health and suggested a behavioural therapist, which we tried, he managed to control her but when we try his suggestions they dont seem to work. we wondered if it could be an alpha female thing as she does'nt seem to attack male family members so much. she can be an extremely loving dog most of the time but seems to turn nasty when she becomes excited which being a puppy is quite often. we also have a 5 year old bull terrier who behaves well and has never had this trait (we also had this dog from a puppy), where are we going wrong?

I want to get a maltese around the price of $800. my friend says they are, and I told her they were $1000, and she said they're ripping you off. there are some $900 ones, but there are some other really cute ones!!!!! so, please give me any website that sells maltese dogs. not teacup. I have already tried www.anypets.com. plz do not answer by saying "rescue one from the humane society!" It may sound like I am a criticizer, but I do not think one from the humane society is a great idea. I am sorry to the people who got it at the humane society... lol but T.T at the same time... thx!

My pup would rather eat human food (who doesn't) But he is to the point he jumps on a chair to the table. I pick him up scold him and put him on the floor. He doesn't even wait until I get out of the room he is back on the table trying to share food with my kids. They tell him no and make him get down. What else can I do to make him stop this?

I am looking for a dog to bring home for the family, but most pure breds are too expensive. I think I would rather save a dog than buy a pure bred. Any good or bad experiences with shelters? Is it a good idea?

my 9 month old toy poodle just had surgery three weeks ago to remove part of his femur due to legg calve perthes disease. now he is very very ill with liver disease. can anesthisia cause this. i'm extremely worried about him. he will not play, walks very little, refuses almost all food, will not drink ( he has had to have IV fluids and i give him pedialite in his mouth with a syringe). he takes lasix and denosyl daily. i am not looking to place blame...i don't really care what caused it. i just don't want to loose him, he is like my baby. what should i feed him and how else can i help him? i'm feeling so helpless

my siberian husky died two days ago. i have posted a question about this already but i just want to vent now... i think it just hit me that she is gone, she was like a part of my daily routine! she died of cancer and was about 12 years old, im only 13 so for as long as i can remember shes been there. she was like a sister more then anything and i only saw her growl once and it was to protect me from this dog who came running ready to bite me! i really just relized ive always had big dogs and at least two now i only hav one lil chihuahua. i feel so empty now and im alot less busy i hate it without her. ive also relized that ill never be able to hug her or smell her fur... any advice would be cool if it could help at all.
thanks
R.I.P. Tasha Marie...

I have a lab who refuses to be "locked up" He even opens the doors in the house and lets himself out right now I have boxes in front of them so he cant but its a pain in the butt and looks ugly .but back to the question He jumps the fence so we got him a chain but he has figured out how to get out of every single collor we have bought him,The electric fence did not work neither .I dont know how to keep him from getting out.We have a huge yard so its not like he dont have room to run.My husband takes him out running and swimming too.Im just not sure what to do and I feel bad for the neighbors.

I just saw Click with Adam Sandler & the dogs in this movie were humping & violating a stuffed toy.

Weird question but I have always wondered how do they get the dogs to hump in movies? Is this animal abuse or just fake? Are they allowed to do this?
any knowledge would be appreciated & the ten points are yours.

My boyfriend and I are looking for a dog when we move into our apartment. The problem is, he's allergic. Now there are many dogs that are mixed with hypoallergenic dogs such as, a Pomeranian/schnauzer, a beagle/shi-tzu, and a fox terrier/shi-tzu. Schnauzers and shi-tzus are hypoallergenic, so does that make the mix a hypoallergenic dog? (i know this question and the wording makes me sound like an idiot, just go with it)
