Take your new rescue to the vet as soon as you can. They will do a thorough exam and give a schedule of needed vaccinations. Females can have the first heat starting as early as 5 months.
Thanx for your rescue!

even if she has had shots before it wont hurt her to have all her shots again, pets are taken into shelters all the time with no vaccination history and the first thing they get is a booster shot and rabies vaccination,if she is around 8 months old she should be coming into heat very soon if she hasn't already before you got her, most small breeds tend to come into heat around 8-10months old their first heat but it isn't uncommon for them to have the first heat at 6 months old

First of all let me congratulate you on your new family member!!
Next- at 8 mos. your puppy can have her full round of vaccinations, which normally includes Rabies, DaPPv (a 5 or 7 way vaccine that covers a number of diseases) and she can be wormed to remove any parasites.
Dogs come into heat between 6 to 8 mos. so, she could be spayed at anytime now!
Good Luck!!

I suggest taking her to your local Banfield pet hospital. They have a puppy plan (which you can pay monthly) which includes spaying, shots, exams, and emergency visits along with a few other things. Plus if you have to travel with your dog and something happens you can go to any Banfield where you are and they can pull up your records and treat your dog there. Good Luck!

Check out the link below. If you rescued her through an agency, try to contact them for more information. If you got her off the street, contact your vet. You may need to do all shots again to be certain (i.e., she may not have had any shots!.

God bless you on your compassion!! It only makes me prefer to cry as quickly as I study stuff like this via fact that is perplexing to have faith human beings could be so heartless. of direction, my own stupid brother became talking approximately getting a canine and stated he wanted a German Shepherd. i became at our interior of sight Farmer's marketplace 2 weeks in the past and the Humane Society had an attractive and candy-natured German Shepherd up for adoption so I grabbed my cellular telephone and called my brother to tell him the solid information. The jerk instructed me in an extraordinarily condescending voice that he will no longer "undertake" a canine yet, as a replace, gets one from a breeder or a pal. that is like he's only too solid to undertake a canine, huh? Made me contemplate whether the scientific institution goofed and sent the incorrect @sshole residing house with my mom while my brother became born. I as quickly as labored with a lawyer that still had that "only shoot the canine and sidestep the vet bill" mentality. you may think of that a professional might understand extra ideal, spectacular? Oh, did I point out that once my brother have been given tired of looking after his previous Siberian Husky, I took it in? And that he on no account took that undesirable canine to the vet? I continually took it for him. He would not like canine hair in his superb, new automobiles so my vehicle is often the family individuals puppy-cellular. i assume I could be happy he did no longer undertake that stunning German Shepherd. That canine deserved a extra ideal residing house... nonetheless i might have been helping guard him had my brother accompanied him. properly, solid subject which you have been there for Jack! returned, God bless you!

Youy need to start getting his first shots now! Its ok if they have already had some shots as it won't hurt them. Also you will need to get the puppy dewormed at the vet. All puppies are born with worms, as they are passed through the mothers milk along with all kinds of antibodies to help the puppy fight off diseases while its so young and hopefull throuought its life.
Here is a good example...
A possible vaccination schedule for the 'average' puppy is shown below...
Puppy Vaccination Schedule & Age to get Vaccination:
5 weeks Parvovirus: for puppies at high risk of exposure to parvo, some veterinarians recommend vaccinating at 5 weeks. Check with your veterinarian.
6 & 9 weeks Combination vaccine* without leptospirosis.
Coronavirus: where coronavirus is a concern.
12 weeks or older Rabies: Given by your local veterinarian (age at vaccination may vary according to local law).
12 & 15 weeks** Combination vaccine
Leptospirosis: include leptosporosis in the combination vaccine where leptospirosis is a concern, or if traveling to an area where it occurs.
Coronavirus: where coronavirus is a concern.
Lyme: where Lyme disease is a concern or if traveling to an area where it occurs.
Adult (boosters)§ Combination vaccine
Leptospirosis: include leptospirosis in the combination vaccine where leptospirosis is a concern, or if traveling to an area where it occurs.
Coronavirus: where coronavirus is a concern.
Lyme: where Lyme disease is a concern or if traveling to an area where it occurs.
Rabies: Given by your local veterinarian (time interval between vaccinations may vary according to local law).
*A combination vaccine, often called a 5-way vaccine, usually includes adenovirus cough and hepatitis, distemper, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. Some combination vaccines may also include leptospirosis (7-way vaccines) and/or coronavirus. The inclusion of either canine adenovirus-1 or adenovirus-2 in a vaccine will protect against both adenovirus cough and hepatitis; adenovirus-2 is highly preferred.
**Some puppies may need additional vaccinations against parvovirus after 15 weeks of age. Consult with your local veterinarian.
§ According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, dogs at low risk of disease exposure may not need to be boostered yearly for most diseases. Consult with your local veterinarian to determine the appropriate vaccination schedule for your dog. Remember, recommendations vary depending on the age, breed, and health status of the dog, the potential of the dog to be exposed to the disease, the type of vaccine, whether the dog is used for breeding, and the geographical area where the dog lives or may visit.
Bordetella and parainfluenza: For complete canine cough protection, we recommend Intra-Trac II ADT. For dogs that are shown, in field trials, or are boarded, or going to a dog park or basically anywhere where they are going to be around other dogs, we recommend vaccination every six months with Intra-Trac II ADT.

You should call a vet they can give you the names of the shots, what they are used for and how much it will cost to get it all done.

I prefer hair which is shoulder length or longer, As well as since that men who like females are more often then not directly, they like long hair because that looks more feminine, as most males have short hair.
