If she's actually weeing it shouldn't be anything more than scent marking, but if she's straining to go frequently but not producing anything or is just doing tiny drops then it sounds like either an infection or a blockage. Both need treatment at the vet.

As a lot are saying it maybe she's just marking her territory. If your at all concerned put your mind at rest and ask the vet. You don't have to take her in you could just phone up and ask. The vet may want to have a look at her if she thinks it maybe something else like an infection but if its territorial then you'll know for sure and save your self a journey.
Good luck

Because she hasnt been out for ages, she is probably marking her territory and leaving her scent for all the boy dogs in the area.. Just keep an eye on her when you let her in the garden and see if her usual habits have changed. If your worried about an infection make sure she has drinks to help flush it out. I hope she is ok and try not to worry . you can always ring the vet tomorrow to put your mind at rest good luck .

My dog does this all the time. When he has a lot of urine he will leave a big one, like he's relieving a big full bladder, then there's lots of little ones left behind to empty completely. Plus I think he knows that, since he's an alpha dog, he's got plenty of territory marking to do, so he never empties in one shot.
Oh, I think I have the same response too when I gotta go badly. Lots at first to get relief, then a few little to finish the job. Just a natural bio response.

The times that she does the little wees is when she is marking territory. Yeah, females do it too. They wee on other dogs wee to have their sent on top of the others wees. Some females will even lift a hind leg like the males do.

As of now, I wouldn't worry about it because it seems to be the first time it happened. If it happens for a few days now, you might want to check her out with your vet. Did you take her on a new route for her walk? Then she would have plenty of territory to mark. It doesn't seem like a big deal right now, but if you notice it continuing to happen or a change in her poop, I would call the vet.
Good luck

If she's been in for a while, it's most likely just territory scenting to get her space back. The long wee was simply because she had to go pee. The little ones are quite normal unless she seems to be struggling or in pain or discomfort. My dog always does this!!

hi it could be an infection, is she drinking more? if she seems to have any discomfort when she goes then get her checked. I have a cavalier king charles who for some reason can go for a wee in the garden, come in and wee in her bed! they do hold it for odd reasons, just keep an eye and call your vet for advice tomorrow if you are still worried xx

If there aren't any other symptoms (urgent urination, increased water consumption, balance issues, urination inside the house if she's not potty trained, blood in the urine, etc), then chances are she's just marking.
My spayed female toy dog will pee 20+ times in an hour long trip to the dog park. On our 30 minute walk yesterday, she peed at least 6 times. I asked the vet about it during a routine visit and he said that she's just marking. Nothing to be worried about if there aren't any other symptoms.

Don't worry too much, my two dogs are quite different in their toilet habits. German Shepperd ***** lots of wees, collie lab x *****, one good long wee. When the x started to go quite a lot, and was asking to go out all the time i took her to the vet who confirmed a bladder infection, couple of days anti bio-tics and a steroid injection to stop the itching and she was fine. Enjoy your dog .
