How can I make my already fixed male dog stop marking his territory on everything from my pillow to the curtains to anything else below knee level. He isn't going to the bathroom but simply marking. He's been fixed for 3 years. There are 2 other male dogs in the house but none of them mark on anything and they are not trying to outdominate one another.

He won't stop. Even though the other dogs are not trying to dominate him. He is flat out telling them he's the alpha male. Unfortunatly, there's nothing short of putting him in a large kennel while you can't watch him, that you can do.

You can try a doggy waist band on him. It covers his abdomen so he can't lift his leg on everything. They also sell a "shock mat" that's battery operated, when it is stepped on it shocks the pads of their feet and they run away. Of course this will keep him off furniture and certain areas the mat is located only. My brother swears by this method and once the dog got the idea what the mat did, he just put towels of similar color in other places and psyched the dog out.

I got a belly band for my male dog. When he peed he would pee on himself and he hated it so he stopped marking in the house. It made him easier to housetran too. They cost like $30 I think.

he's probably marking places where you have not cleaned properly. try to clean the items with an enzyme cleaner to get the marking out.
