Does anyone have a dog who has to live off of chicken and rice because of allergies? What supplements are they on? Has it worked out ok? Any info would be great. Thanks!

I mean so far, she knows sit, stay, no...and "I am going to ignore you because I see people that I want to say hi to"...

She is 5 months old. Has a TON of energy (which I love) and beats up on my cat (they really actually play well together)

I am going to send to to obediance class probably starting in May....

She seems smart...She is really good at ignoring me when she has her mind set on something...she is soooooo friendly!!

How can I go about training her til I can get her into class? (besides shoving her full of treats)

I had her on Puppy Chow...then I was told by someone to feed Eukanuba.....now I am being told that it isn't good either...

I am not rich...I mean I could swing $15 20 a week on food for her. But, at the same time, I want what is best for her.

I am being told 15 different things here.

Guess I shouldn't be feeding Buttions my cat 9 Lives either....he likes it and he is WAY picky!

I recently viewed a segment in the news where the chinese are litterally pulling fur off of dogs to sell it for profit to make coats out of..They showed dogs in cages shaking, with nor fur left on their bodies. There were mounds of dog hair in piles, and cages filled with dogs. Im appauled, and sickened to think that people in this world are so cruel..I hope everyone that reads this will not buy anything that has any kind of fur on it, because it may be dog fur..I was shocked. Someone needs to pull the skin off of the chinese and see how they like it..Has anyone out there ever heard of this practice among these people?

My dog has had two rounds of seizures in the past two months. The first time he had three seizures within an hour. Tonight he has had two within an hour. I don't know if he's over it yet. I took him to the vet the first time it happened and he said their was nothing he could really do for him, just to document if he had any more and if it continued he'd have to put him on medication for the rest of his life. I don't really want to medicate the problem, does anyone have any other solutions?? And what causes them??

We have an open supply of water but, when we give a piece of ice she attacks it like she's hasn't had a drink in days.

And for all of you paranoid dog people- my dog is very small and the pieces of ice couldn't possibly fit in her mouth and choke her.

I recently switched from Puppy Chow to Eukenuba. I read the feeding instructions (go easy...1st dog...I am a cat person...she suckered me with those big brown eyes)

But anyway...I read the feeding chart on how much I should be feeding her and it seems to be so little. She is a Boston Terrier/Jack Russell mix and weighs all of 10 pounds. Eukenuba is saying to feed her 1 1/3 cups of food daily....this seems like so little. I was giving her an open food bowl but now I am doing what they say. (I am sure they know more than I do)

But like I said...this seems to be so little food for her.....

Are they right? Am I going to starve my dog?

Cats are soooo much easier!

We have a dobberman puppy the dobberman shelter where we bought him told us to spread his food out throughout the day instead of feeding him a lot at one time because it could cause bloating that usually leads to their organs being crushing ulitmately resulting death..

Today he ate a portion of a foam bed and then bit through his dog food bag and ate some food..his whole abdomen area looks WAY bigger than normal..and his body is very hard feeling..we aren't sure how much he ate..but Should we be concerned? are there signs I should be watching for? he is only a year old.

i live in a very rural area. it is a favorite place for dumping unwanted dogs. usually about 4-6 times a year, strays in varying degrees of health and condition show up in my yard. no collars, no ID whatsoever. the dogs sometimes fight with my dogs, sometimes give my dogs fleas, usually eat up every bit of dogfood that i have left outside. the strays are a nuisance , to say the least.

we have no animal shelter in our county. nearest one is 50 miles away. 3 hours ,minimum round trip , plus about $10.00 worth of gas.

i do not want to keep any of the dogs. what are my alternatives , for getting rid of the dogs, and discouraging people from dumping them here?

I have a 7 month old female Golden Retriever. She comes running and jumps on you and nearly knocks you off your feet. We tell her OFF!! OFF!! But she keeps at it. And she bites, play bites but they hurt all the same. We tell her NO! or BAD GIRL!! or STOP!! but she keeps it up. Otherwise, she is a joy and obeys other simpler commands, but 3 of us can't break her of these things. I'm considering a private trainer, but before I spend that kind of money, I wondered if anyone here had suggestions. Thanks!
