you can bath a pup at this age. just do the mother first. shampoo flee comb and blow dry. Before starting buy a flee trap. It is a piece of sticky paper under a light. Then bath the pup make sure that the water is a warm but not hot temp. Remeber to do around the neck and butt area first because the flee's will run into holes to hide from soap they do not like soap and water. dry the pup well with towel. And place next to mom quicklly. It also helps if you take the bedding ( you have to wash it anyway or relpace) and put it in the dryer so it is nice and warm to keep the pup warm after the bath. I have bathed 1 week old pups and they lived. very small yorkies at that.

DO NOT!!!!! USE FLEA SHAMPOOS ON PUPPIES THAT YOUNG! DO NOT BATH A PUP THAT YOUNG! YOU CAN MAKE IT SICK AND KILL IT !!! You have to pick the fleas off by hand at this age. Read you Flea products carefully, they are an insecticide! Most flea products can't even be used at six weeks old. WHEN your pup is old enough for a flea bath, you start at the head and work your way back so the fleas do not move toward the head. GET SOME HELP FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT DOGS!

Use Dawn dish washing detergent.Leave it on for ten minutes being careful that the puppy does not catch a chill. Are you can get a flea comb and comb out the fleas and most important is to treat the mother for fleas. The very best flea treatment is Frontline that you can get from the vets. You cant use it on the puppy until the puppy is eight weeks old but you can put it on mom. Also if they both have fleas they will need to be treated for tapeworms.Take them to the vet to get the right treatment for that. The puppy will have to wait untill it is old enough for treatment but mom needs to be checked now and treated for worms.Puppy needs to be wormed starting at two weeks of age and every two weeks after using a good wormer for adults and puppies.Vet check is a must by six weeks to start puppy on its parvo shots. So you see fleas are not the only thing to be worried about.

Take it to your vet, they will have stuff that is safe for use on such a young puppy. Make sure you treat the mom and any other animals on the premises with the appropriate products.....

Almost all of the products available at pet stores are for puppies 12 weeks and older. Make sure you read the entire label before using anything on them.

NEVER NEVER use dog flea control on cats....It will KILL them.

Yeah, you do want to treat the fleas according to your vet....By not treating, your puppy will die....Fleas feed on Blood...a small puppy does not have a lot of that relatively speaking. Be Careful of the advice you follow....it could be deadly

Try flea combing the pup and treat the mom and get them far, far away from where the fleas are. That's all I can think of that you could do without a vet wisit, and with "oops" pups from dogs that are already mixed, I'm gonna guess that you'd rather not spend that money as you obviously didn't spent the money needed to fix the poor mother dog.

Bathe him with joy dishwahing detergent and leave it on as long as possible. Making sure to keep the water warm, not hot and don't let it get chilled and dry really well and hold with lots of warm , soft towels to warm it back up.It kills fleas really well. Also pick them off one at a time, it only takes 1 pregnant one to produce hundreds. So, it's worth it. They sell combs for this too. The pup is too young for the medication but call the vet and ask how soon they can be medicated, it works. Also a little vinegar in the rinse water may repel fleas too. Good luck.Look up natural cures for pet problems...on the internet. it's best if you can use natural things. I think it is penny royal that you can use but look it up and see.

I have 2 week old yorkies and my vet said to give them a bath in dawn soap that will kill the flea on the pups and also to give the mommy a bath with idawn soap also because u don't want to treat the mom with any flea control if she is nursing. You don't want to give them a bath with dawn soap every day maybe once a week because it will dry out their skin

No. A puppy this young can't regulate its body temperature and the chill from a bath could kill it.

At this age you need to speak to a vet about the fleas. There are treatments that can be used. For the safety of the puppy I will not say what, simply because if misused they can also cause serious harm to the pup.

Call your vet. If the fleas aren't taken care of in a timely manner, they can literally suck a pup this young dry, causing them to be severely anemic.

I wouldnt bathe a puppy that young...My puppy is just about 2 1/2 months and even now when I bathe him it takes him about 2 hours in a towel on my lap to stop shivering...and thats with the heat up in the house...you have to be really careful...as for something to use for the fleas...When I got my puppy they told me that Dawn dish liguid is really good at killing fleas...and I have found that It truly does work..they fall right off of him in the bathe...Best of Luck to you and your puppy....

You can get shampoo for puppies that have fleas. Check the weight of the pup to see if it will work. Beings it's a fairly new pup, I would check with a vet first.
