Use a crate for when you can't supervise him. It is hard at first - noone loves to keep their dog "in a cage" - but remember that a puppy can kill him/herself if left alone. They don't know what's OK to chew on and what isn't - and if they chew on electrical cords, etc. that will kill them...read up on crate training and be a responsible dog owner.

He is teething, get a book on dogs and training them. The pup needs to be crated in one he will fiot into in 6 mos. too. Then give him chews and rawhides to cut his teeth on. I don't know how people think pups don't have teeth or teeth or chew or pee or need training. Where are you . Well, take the dog out in the am asap and then again after it eats and about every hour after he's awake. Praise him and give him treats and all kinds of praise and make a big deal out of it when he pees or poops outside and don't scold when he makes a mistake. They have to train their bladders to hold for long periods of time just like children do and this comes with age...then keep him crated when you aren't home and let him out asap when you get home. Don't leave for too many hours, this is cruel. They try not to go where they sleep unless it is imposible to hold, so don't scold, clean it up and make sure he is outside for a while. This is training and the teething goes on for about 6-8 months at least. They have 2 sets of teeth. The responsibility is awesome but the rewards are great. Good luck.

The chewing is much more out of BOREDOM than anything else, pups have tons of energy and will find a way to use it!

BIG Amen on the crate!!! Nothing beats a crate for a lot of reasons. Pays off a thousand times over later as well, when you have no choice about crating him. Best to get the critter adopted to one early!

crate the pup when you are not around. the reason he chews on the remote and flip flop is because it smells like his chew toys that are made of rubber. it's also a chew toy that is in reach.

My dog loves pigs ears. and his name is PIGGLY. mini jack russell tarrier, albino.

Well you can go oto Petsmart ot Petco and there is this stuff called bitter apple spray and you can but it on almost anything. It tastes bad to the dog so they will leave it alone and if your dog has hot spots or something like that it says on the bottle it works great for that to. I have personaly used this product and i love it. Hope this works and congradulations on your new family member!

You may have to start putting him in a kennel cage. (Crate) It's safe as long as you come home within an appropriate time to let him relieve himself. Or...you'll clean up doody in there. He is lonely. Play music while your gone, or leave a tv on.
