I have noticed that my Yorkie (almost 6 months old) has some sores in his ear. Could you tell me what they might be?

He could have flea bites, sores from itching, ear mites, allergies...

Cheap Solution... Puppy is going to squirm because he may not like this... But it will work... If you have any questions contact your pets vet.

Get a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide.

Dilute 1/2 water and 1/2 Peroxide.

Get a cotton ball and dip into the mixture. Or you can use a thin wash cloth. I do NOT recommend Q-Tips because you can puncture your dogs eardrums.

Clean out your puppies ears.

The Hydrogen peroxide will also help heal the sores.

You don't have to dilute it but at first you may want to so it doesn't burn. This will also help you Yorkie have clean ears.

Also if your Yorke's eyes water a lot you will notice that it her hair around her eyes will become dark and stained.... You can use the solution and clean your puppies eyes to.. If you chose to do this CLEAN HIS EYES FIRST.. then clean out her ears... Doing it the other way could give her an eye infection... If you chose to ... Just dampen the wash cloth and gently rub it over puppies eyes.. NOT inside the eye... Just around.

They may be due to ear mites - the sores may be caused be him digging at his ears (mites cause incredible itching). You can get a medication called optiear or opticlear online, very inexpensive, to rid the ears of mites. Also, of course, you can take him to a vet...either way you really need to treat this.

I agree it could be mites or just an infection. Please take your pup to the vet and I hope it's ok.
