Boo Hoo!

I have a very complicated problem with my six year old Whippet. He's had seperation anxiety ever since he was a puppy which is typical with a Whippet and after a couple of years, he got a lot better and stopped for the most part. When he was a puppy, he did everything bad a puppy could do. He trashed the house, chewed up EVERYTHING he could get his paws on and would urinate and defecate all over the house. With intense training and the use of a kennel, he eventually became controlable after a couple of years, only on occasion getting in to the trash but still frequently going to the bathroom in his kennel. When he was five, I moved out of my parents house and in with my husband and since then, Twiggy has been completely out of control once more. I've continued with the intense training and he still is getting in to the trash, going to the bathroom wherever and whenever he can and on top of that, my training methods are no longer working. I'm out of ideas and I'm ready to get rid him.

I have 3 week old puppies and the mom quit taking care of them. The vet told me to mix puppy milk mix stuff with puppy chow hard food. I soaked it. And the puppy chow never got that soft so i gave it to them and two choked( they are fine) so I have been soaking it for like 4 hours and its not soft so what should i feed them. I have soft DOG food but can i feed it to my pups?

I have a Daschund puppy that was given to my family as a gift. He is almost a year old. We take him on walks and do the normal playing stuff with him but just recently I would take him out side to go potty and he would not. When I tell him to come here he turns around and runs up the street, and when a stranger is walking up the street he will follow and wont listen when I tell him to come. When I go get him he runs away. We have had him since December and he listened fine till about 2-3 weeks ago. I mean he did the normal puppy things, run out of the yard, but he listened when I told him to come back. I am now having my neighbors complain about his barking in the day when no one is home.

I dont know what to do anymore. I cant handle any more neighbors telling me that I need to either keep him in my house or get rid of him.

Someone please let me know if you have anything that will help me.

Thank you

I'm curious why people who cannot control their dogs don't take them to obedience classes? This is a question just for people who have NOT taken obedience lessons. I'd like to know what keeps you from trying obedience.

We are looking for an English Bulldog (miniature) puppy for our kids and everywhere we look they are in the thousands of dollars...
Does e-Bay sell Pets? Anyone have any suggestions? We'd rather pay a reasonable price for the puppy and save the money for the care of the puppy!

We began shaving his hind quarters on the vets suggestion. He originally grew some hair back however after a few shaves he quit regrwoing the shaved portion of hair. Recently he has began to lose the remainder of his hair around the chest and neck. Hiis skin has become a darker color since the hair loss began. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing hairloss of this sort and if so what we could do to stop the hair loss and begin to regrow his coat. The vet has already ruled out mange.

Our mother dog died last June from diabetes and I was wondering if her son can develop diabetes also. It happened so suddenly. She always had skin problems and bad breathe. She gained weigh after we had her spaded. She was never a real active dog. I feel so guilty because I didn't recognize that she was that sick. I don't believe the vet ever checked her for diabetes.

I took him outside to go to the bathroom and all of a sudden he starts falling over and I run to him, pick him up and carry him to my bed. He is screaming and won't put his back leg down. I freak out trying to find the phone to call the vet and then he stops and gets up, starts wagging his tail...What just happened? Should I call the vet about it?

my golden retriever is almost 7 years, and in the past 2 months he limps (back legs, doesn't put pressue on left leg). he was on prednisone for over a year because of skin condition. took him off prednisone, and now scratching all the time, hair is thin, dry, brittle and losing hair. he use to have such a nice coat. my parents don't want to take him to the vet b/c of money issues. they are trying something with supplementation of vitamin C. could this be hip dysplasia? X ray only way to tell? any comments & concerns please and thanks

I got my one year old dog about three weeks ago. She is a mix between a jack russell and a manchester terrier, if it matters. Until now, we have let her on the couch. She has no sense of where it is okay to jump & she constantly jumps on people's faces and sensitive spots. Now we think it would be a lot better if she was off the couch. How should we go about doing this? Does anyone have any personal experience with this? Any answers are helpful besides the get a dog trainer ones. That would be the next step, and this is my first. Thanks.

She is getting old and HATES water(enough to bite you). I was just worried about stressing her. She has never been to a groomer, we just give her quick baths in the warmer weather. Thanks

I see lots of puppies online, but I don't want to run into any scams. Can anyone direct me on where to look for quality breeders? In Michigan is even better, but not necessary.

Thanks : )

A lot of people are going to say it depends, well, I want a dog that: doesn't shed much,
won't need tremendous excersice,
does well with children,
allergies aren't a prob. with me,
preferably a medium dog, and a cute one, not one of those really ugly pale looking resembles a mop looking dog.
sorry, but NO POODLES OR PUGS.
