We are looking for an English Bulldog (miniature) puppy for our kids and everywhere we look they are in the thousands of dollars...
Does e-Bay sell Pets? Anyone have any suggestions? We'd rather pay a reasonable price for the puppy and save the money for the care of the puppy!

You don't ever want to buy a puppy sight unseen. There are thousands of scam artists out there just waiting to take your money. Adopt from www.petfinder.com - you can do a search there for breed.

You can pretty much bet that the cheaper the dog, the more health problems you will have.

You may want to look for a rescue for the breed in your area. Most large cities have a rescue for your more popular breeds. A bulldog is a major investment and not really a good dog for the average home.

They can have some major health issues and can be very susceptible to weather.

As with any breed, research, research, research your local breeders and the breed itself to be sure it is the right breed for you and your family. There is no such breed as a "miniature" English bulldog.

You should probably check out www.akc.org to research the right breed for your family.

Be very carefull when bying an English Bulldog. They are a very unhealthy breed. Well-bred Bulldogs will come with a 2 year health guarantee for things like genetic disorders. $600 sounds cheap for a bulldog...they probably aren't registered and haven't had genetic testing done on the adults. Avoid it. The dog doesn't NEED AKC registry, but its more likely they have good quality dogs if they have AKC registered and champion titled dogs.

Ebay does not sell live animals. Bulldogs are expensive because they typically have to be bred by artificial insemination and they usually have to have their puppies by c section which is quite expensive. Add to that the price of a stud fee and it becomes a pricey breed. You might try adopting a bulldog through Bulldog rescue, that is usually not too expensive. You would have to neuter or spay it though.

Why don't you save up your money?

If you want exactly what you want... then save up for a year or two.

If the kids want a puppy now, then get a cheaper dog.

Try a rescue organization.
