Dogs don't know the difference: they sniff and sometimes lick their own poo, lol.
However, the nutrition formula in dog food is for canines, so keep the cat food away from them.

Depends on the dog. I have a friend who's dog loves cat food, and will steal it from their cat, but both of my dogs will not touch the stuff and prefer their dog food. It is better for them to eat dog food, because it gives them the proper nutrients.

Dogs like both, The only reason they like cat food so much is cause they KNOW they should NOT be eating it. Also, dogs should not eat cat food as it does not have enough nutrients. As the person stated before me. Keep them away from the "Kitty Box Crunchies"

Here's a shocker for you, dog's enjoy fresh food best - same as you. People buy dog food for their dogs because a) it's simple, b) it's nutritionally sound, c) it's easy, d) it's cheap (or, at least they think it is).

A dog, any dog would be a lot happier getting a well-balanced, nutritionally appropriate diet for canines, but fresh food than eating any "dog" food. Trouble is their humans just aren't trained to provide that and everything else they need.

Dogs enjoy eating so I don't believe it will be unhealthy to feed them cat food, ask your vet first. There might not be enough food or nutrients/ingredients they need. Dogs will take any food so they are never without food (from wolf heritage)

Dog food.

They are made differently to suit not only the nutrition of each but also the taste. Cats tend to like more acidic based food, while dogs tend to have a sweet tooth. But don't go feed your dog sugar or candy...

Dogs love cat food but don't give it to them because they can't digest it and it can make them very sick don't do it. If you have a cat and a dog put the cat food up where the cat can get to it but the dog can't I had to put my cats food on the fridge.

Well if ask my dog he'll say woof woof, just kidding, my dog eats anything and I mean anything! I have to put the cat food up so he doesn't get it, although the cat whacked him pretty good so he probably won't go near her food again.

They'll eat either one if they aren't picky, my old dog Joe would eat Cookies cat food and Cookie would eat his dog food! But it better that they eat thier own food so they get the proper nutrients.
