Just got back from the vet's today and she said my little chi is too pudgy! LOL! She said I shouldn't be keeping the food bowl down all day like I've been doing. Recommends to let her eat 2 times a day for 5-10 minutes. What sayiest thee?

so i just found out that i got accepted to North Carolina State University! :] (I live in NJ and havent visited yet) but I was wondering if anyone lives near there (its in Raleigh) if there are any ASPCA's, rescues or doggy daycares around I could volunteer at? Right now I volunteer at a small one (in NJ) about 45 mins. from my house, and I just LOVE it, so I know I want to do that when I move. Any info would be great.

Oh, and I am going to school for business and want to eventually open up my own doggy daycare. and I wanted some feed back on what classes I should sign up for in college? and what you would want to see in a doggy daycare if you had to leave your dog there for a couple hours or a week? Or what is another business I could possibly open to help animals?

If you need anymore details, I will add some and just check back.

Any advice would help!
Thanks :]

I posted this question again because i only got 2 answers.

I have a 2-year-old 1/2 golden retriever 1/2 malamute. My neighbor’s dog first charged her while my daughter was walking her on a leash and a fight broke out. I was not informed of this confrontation between the two dogs until it happened again when both dogs were loose. This time there dog needed stitches. I paid half of the vet bill and tried to file a report with animal control but I was told they don't take dog on dog reports. My neighbor informed me they would try to keep there dog locked up in there yard so this didn't happen again. There dog has never been locked up and has roamed the neighborhood at its' leisure. My dogs are locked behind a fenced yard and only occasionally by mishap get out. Now my dog faces dangerous dog charges because it happened again and this time apparently was nasty and there dog died. I am at a loss of what to do. The last two confrontations no one witnessed the fight start so I don't know who the aggressor was. Please help.

I just posted a question on medium size dogs in apartment dwellings.

Thanks for all the great replies.

there must be a way to resond to your own question....but I can't figure it out.

Greyhounds sound great. But I read on several websites that they do not make suitable pets for 1st time dog owners. Why??... I don't know. everything about them sounds suitable to me.

and, of course, the websites don't give an explantion. anybody have an explation for the websites' statment (can't find the link). are they just wrong???

thanks a ton for the responses.
