In terms of registration, there is only one Alaskan Malamute.
Be aware that the term "giant" Alaskan Malamute, like "Teacup" Toy dog, is a marketing scam. People claiming to breed "giant" Mals are selecting for size over any other factor, to the detriment of the dog.
The Alaskan Malamute should ideally weigh somewhere around 85 lbs. in order to *do its job* -- any bigger and it spends its life pounding on its joints and breaks down at an early age.
Also think about this: The tendency for Hip Dysplasia dramatically increases in proportion to a dog's size. Irresponsible breeders (very often those advertising "giant" Malamutes) do not test their breeding dogs for hip dysplasia.
Thus, the chances of you getting a "giant" Mal with Hip Dysplasia (not to mention various other health problems) is pretty darn high.
Please consider getting a properly bred, properly-sized Alaskan Malamute from a responsible breeder. Check the link that Back From Mexico provided for a good place to start.

http://www.alaskanmalamute.org/breeders/breeders.asp is a breeder list from the American Malmute Club of America. Make sure you read up on the breed fully. These are NOT an easy breed to own, not by any means. And, I have not heard of a "Giant" AM - is this some fake designation from bad breeders? Contact a few good breeders to find out for sure. Chances are one breeder someplace would have an oversized pet-quality Malamute that shows up in a litter.

I've been on the board of my local kennel club for quite a few years. I've never heard of a giant Malmute. Maybe you could find one with a Google search. However, I would never buy a dog on line. It's always best to meet with the breeder after you've researched common ailments of the breed, talk to the breeder about those, and see the parents of the pups.
Good luck!

If you are able to find what you're looking for it would not meet the breed standards.
Does the 'reg.' mean regular or registered? What you need to look for is a Pedigree. Check the blood lines on each side, know the Standards
To breed for size means that there are other issues that had to be overlooked or compromised in order to work the genes for size. They can be big but frail, they can be big but sickly, they can be big and dumb.
The Standards of a breed need to kept true.

I don't know about a giant, but there are usually numerous Malamutes in rescues. Check out Petfinder.com and use the breed searcher, though you might also look at Siberian husky and husky mixes, because sometimes Malamutes get labeled as huskies or husky mixes.

go to yahoo/google and type in "Alaskan Malamute" (or even alaskan malamute rescue) and your state and you should find a couple rescues or if you're looking for a breeder.
Good Luck!
