My husband asked me if I thought a pregnacy test for women would work on dogs. We have a dauschund and we are unsure if she is pregnant. She has teats that look like they have milk in them and when you squeeze them a little tiny drops of liquid come out. When we saw the liquid come from her teats we thought she was pregnant for sure. Her stomach does not really look as if there are puppies in her. We believe she should have had puppies by now. I don't think that a pregnacy test for women will work. Do female dogs get teats that just look like she is pregnant? I hope someone can give me a good answer.

We have an 11 month old Schnoodle who has been crate trained since we brought her home at 10 weeks old. She has done very well to be quiet the entire time. Recently she started barking and whining in the middle of the night. Once I got up and took her out thinking she must have to go the bathroom but she didn't go. Last night she barked for an hour and when I let her out this morning she wasn't that interested in going outside. We have been trying to ignore her but what is going on? Why has this just started at 11 months?

My 8 week old pup was diagnosed yesterday with parvo. He was a pound pup and got it from there. I took him to an emergency vet clinic last night and over the night he went from being barely able to move to barking his head like a maniac to let him out of his cage. His temp also dropped from 105.7 to 103.6. I took him to my reg. vet this morning for more care and he said that my dog is wheezing and may also have pneumonia. He says this will drop my dogs odds from around 80% survival rate to 50%. I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with parvo or possibly the combo of parvo and pneumonia. I want my baby to live!!!

My dog just ate a couple of my Energizer batteries. Is his stomach gonna blow up now?
I slapped him in the face to teach her that its wrong to eat such things cause hes done it before when he ate some of my pencils.
Ok, so I know batteries have acid and he's kinda looking at me now like she just took a giant dump in the laundry.
I gotta get to aerobics, is it ok to leave him or will she be a corpse soon?

I have a long coat chihuahua that is now 13 wks old. In the past I've had smooth coat chi's and their ears were up by 3 or 4 months. I realize that teething has an effect on their ears but does that also include long coat chi's? She is teething quite a bit and chews everything in sight! Her ears are very, very furry and are currently only half way up. I was wondering if the extra fur has anything to do as to why they are not standing up yet? My concern is mostly because her mother's ears aren't firmly cropped although her daddy's are and he comes from a 5th generation of champions. Also, does anyone know if their skulls change as well as time goes by? At first she had a very round apple head and a short nose but I see that it's changing somewhat as well. Her jaws aren't as prominent as before and is in becoming a little more triangular. Is she just going through typical changes?

And she’s been going to the vets from November, her back and neck are covered in scabs/boils she’s been operated on and was stitched but the wounds came up elsewhere they just seem to be getting worse, she’s constantly on antibiotics and has had painkillers the past week. The vet has said its not life threatening but I'm having to keep her on her bed constantly as she’s getting blood everywhere and I'm worried about hygiene and my child even though its not contagious. She’s an American bulldog and is nearly seven she’s happy in herself and I wouldn't think of putting her to sleep, should j get a second opinion, has anyone experienced this and found anything that helps.

Hi,
I have 3 neighbor dogs (Chihuahuas). There are two on one side and
one on the other side of my house. THEY BARK INCESSANTLY. My wife
and I are ready to short circuit. Called the SPCA and they gave me a
whole list of things to do (keep a log-which they sent me, etc., etc.)
I am willing to do this but it just seems too time consuming and
unjust for that matter. It's very irritating how people can be so
inconsiderate...I can't believe they don't hear their own dogs
barking! Anyway, I've reached the breaking point and am willing to do
whatever I need to do to stop it (fill out log, mail it in, etc.,
etc.) What I would like to know is if anyone has had this problem and
if they have found some creative ways to deal with it (hire
someone...i.e. subpoena deliverer? or someone like this) to go talk to
the people. I've also looked into the no bark devices that you can
place in your yard...not sure if these will work. Any solutions out
there? Thanks for your help!! Really apprecaite it!

I called the breeder she said her dogs due date was Valentines Day. I am going to purchase a puppy from her. She told me to contact her at the end of the month she'll tell me how many there are and the colors. But I really want to know if they were born. I talked to her on Monday. Should I call her today or wait till the 28th. Would it look bad if I called her today?

if your dog is about to give birth? My dog is walking around sniffing more, and licking herself alot, and crying more (which I didn't think was possible). There has been no sign of her losing her mucus plug, and her temp is normal. So is it getting close to due time?

I have a 3 year old yellow lab. A few weeks ago we adopted a 1 yr. old pitbull mix. We kept her for a few weeks but the dogs couldn't get along so we found a new home for the pitbull. Well while the pitbull was here, they would fight over toys and treats (even though I would give them both the same toy/treat). The pitbull has been gone for 2 weeks and the lab still feels protective of her treats, toys and food. She will growl at us if we try to take something from her and she actually bit my husband. I am 7 months pregnant so we have to fix this or take her to an animal shelter/find a new home. Any suggestions?

Valentine's Day was one of the hardest days of our lives! Our dear, devoted English Springer Spaniel, Abby, had to be put down. She gave us 15 loving, happy years and her loss has been more than we can bear!

While at the veterinary hospital, our vet told us that he had just taken care of a litter of Springer Spaniels and said that the family had one puppy left. The puppy is a tri-color just like our Abby. If you know anything about English Springer Spaniels, you know that tri-colors are very rare. Is this fate or just a coincidence?

Being in so much pain from our loss, it is very difficult to make a sound decision. NO other dog will ever replace our precious Abby. But we don't know what to do about the puppy. At times we think we should call and go have a look at it. Other times, we can't bear the thought of another dog in our house. We are so torn and confused right now. We know it isn't the best time to make such a big decision.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
