My parents and I have two dogs, Bernie and Rosie. Rosie has gone to the vet's and Bernie has been left behind. They are so close, and Bernie cries and whines like a baby because they are parted.
I'm told not to let him out into the garden, but I can feed him a treat or some water, but he won't touch them, he sits and whines. Please can you tell me how to make him feel calm or to keep him occupied!

Sort of curious about this because i met a dog and the owner said something about getting it removed off thier dog. At first i was like "why???" then i saw it and it was defidently not attached to anything. Maybe you guys and gals out there can fill me in on this.

I have one female chihuahua and I want to get her a companion. Answers from people who have more that one dog please. Would she get along better with a male or a female? Both dogs would be neutered or spayed. My female is bossy and spoiled and has never been around other dogs, but I would like her to have company when we are not at home. Both dogs would be in the house. I have a choice of both female and male from a litter and I am going on Sunday to pick out which one I want. Help me decide with some experience of your own please.

Ok so My dog is acting wierd.... He is a lil more aggressive now and is usually a very playful and loving dog. he is a year and a half. and he has been hiding under my bed... there is nothing under there either that he would want.... I recently moved from NC to AZ. He is used to roaming the house and now since i moved back in with the parents, i have to keep him in my room. Why is this... is he sick?? or does he miss home???

hey. i know that dogs can get along (because of personality or just because of their mix or whatever) but how about a male dog thats neutered and a female that's not spayed? is that a bad idea? it would be better if i got the female neutered first, wouldn't it? because when my female dog is around other female dogs, she tends to stay away, and she gets nervous. but my boyfriend and i want another dog so bad!! we want to get a corgi, and there is a male corgi on sale that we want to buy! any advice?

I have a 16 year disabled brother with autism. He is low functioning and can say say simple words (eg. yes, no, milk, etc)
We also have a female jack russsel terrier. I'm 13 by the way.
My brother likes to wind the dog up by clapping his hands, hovering his hand above her head, stamping on the floor and banging on the window with his basketball. This all upsets our dog and makes her bark, growl, show her teeth and get aggressive, this eggs my brother on to do more. I just don't know what to do. I don't think there's anything that i can say or do to my brother because he'll stop at the time but then an hour later he'll do it again. I want to de-sensitise my dog to it. If she didn't react my brother would stop annoying her. Please help!!!!

When a dog has her puppies they usually get taken away and put up for adoption. Does the mother feel any sadness?

Well I have these 2 dogs that just started..I dunno what the right word is, mating, i guess. But the male dog get's stuck in the female dog. First time I heard her yelping, I kinda got worried and scared. But then later on they get unstuck. But I was wondering if this is normal. Does this always happen?

I am always looking for new ideas to keep my Jack Russell occupied. She is very well mannered, but ...... true to her breed she has lots of energy and loves to play. We exercise regularly and do the usual play ball. She loves her tennis ball! Her mind is always going, going, going. (very smart.) She likes it when I hide the ball and she has to "hunt" for it. While "hunting" her tail is constantly wagging and you can almost see her mind working. She loves it. I am looking for good games to play with her that make her think.
I welcome all of your good ideas!

My 16 week old pitbull puppy, chevy, got bit by my dads 13ish year old golden retriever today(he was jumping on him licking him etc not biting or clawing) all i noticed at first was a couple little cuts between his eyes wich i immediatly put bacitracin on and comforted him, he was so scared he peed himself! poor guy, well anyway, i was just playing with the little guy now, a couple hours after the bite, and i notice that his eyelid twitches a little, wich im not too worried about ive person had twitches after a cut that just go away, but his haw is showing a little bit, im worried my puppy that i consider to be like my child is hurt, is this something will get better? also, because he may have a tendency allready to be dog agressive and neither are nuetered, what should i do to aid thier relationship? nuetering is out of the question as chevy is pure bred and nearly a perfect show dog/would be great for stud service and the retriever is not my pet. thank you

He just likes to be left alone and to run around the house. he doesnt like attention and he is really timid. he comes when called but not to you, just past you. he wont eat from your hand just alone and i havent heard him bark yet. My dogs sometimes suffer from horrible skin problems. At first, when we moved to this new house, three of our dogs had some sign of it, but it dissappeared after a while with medical care.

However, there's one dog, who had to be shaved at three months because it was especially bad on him.

Now, with three years of age, it came back to him, but even worse; His skin forms crusts and bleed sometimes, and his paws are very swollen, so that it makes it hard to walk...

Please help by explaining this and the cause!

I am looking for a basset artesien normand breeder. The basset artesien normand is a type of dog that looks very similar to a regular basset hound, except it is smaller and less wrinkly.

I have looked everywhere online, and I can't seem to find any breeders anywhere -- much less a breeder in the U.S.

If someone can find out anything for me, I'd be really grateful!
