i have a 3yr old son so has to be friendly/good with children, was thinking of either a labradour or cocker spaniel?

I live in an apartment and my partner has allergies to certain fibres and long haired animals.
We've decided to buy a dog after thinking about it for a long time.
I've not had experience with dogs as pets, I'm willing to take it walking everyday and clean up and care for it but I'm stuck for which breed to try and find.
I've researched small dogs and terriers have been suggested.
Any ideas welcome.

It's kinda thick and it smells really bad. I have read about dog's and cleaning their anal glands. Does anyone have any ideas on if that might be the reason?

I am not really sure how to say it politely, but my dog (3 y/o chocolate lab) farts a lot. They smell so bad, especially when we're in the car. Is there something I can do to help this problem?

ok, my dog had babies yesterday , she had three and they all look big healthy, my question is, one of the babies has what to me looks like silver hair. my friend says its blue but i think it looks more silver than blue... anyway.. is this a miracle or a rare kind of species of gene she has or what... i dont understand...what whould or should i call this breed or say???

Ok...I am interested to find a working dog for me...since I am deaf/hard of hearing but I do wear hearing aid in one ear and cochlear in other ear. Anyone know where I can find this information on website that is recommended about this? I live in Upper State NY. And..what kind of dog would it be good to have or do they give you the dog that is being trained for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing? Good suggestions or info would be helpful.
Not sure what catagory I should put..hope the Pet catagory is ok.

Even when there is other people in the room he will come running to the door when I'm going out and just keep barking for ages. He eventually stops barking after about 5-10 minutes because there is other people there but when he is left alone he barks until I come back. Why does he do this and how can I stop it ??

I have an 81/2 month old retriever mix. She's a good dog and hasn't destroyed anything that's not hers since we got her. I crate trained her so that she would not go to the bathroom in the house. Now I am allowing her to be out at night (she sleeps next to my bed). When is it safe to let her be free during the day?

We are ready to add another puppy to our family. What are the best resources for figuring out which breed is best for us? I want to try and do everything we can to pick a breed that is:

--minimal shedding
--stable personality
--good with children
--small to very small (under 15lb)
--not agressive or territorial by instinct
--friendly
--typically good with other dogs
--trainability, intelligence, and excercise needs are not as big a concern

I would appreciate suggestions of breeds and resources.

I am 25 and do voluntary work at a local animal shelter and have been there for 8 years and have unofficially re-trained a lot of rescue dogs and rehomed them successfully, but my friends believe i should do dog training professionally, how can i go about this?

I am looking to add a 3rd dog to our family. Our first two are rescues and have taken many years of therapy and training on our part to get them stable. We have decided this time to add a puppy. Specifically, we are considering a cavapoo, cockapoo, or yorkiepoo.

What questions should I ask breeders to ensure that they are responsible? I hear a lot of terrible things about "backyard breeders".

he does have a black tongue -spitz looking tail , long hair on the back of his butt/thighs ,front legs, have longish hair at the back of the leg , mid way up ,[our elbow], ears are small , nose short, head square , ohh yeah bigtime love monkey. this dog looks like he has a skunk riding on his back , tail is white in the middle, black on the outside , and it rides up and over his back curled of course

At about 12:30am, I heard something band against my front door. It scared the heck out of me so I looked out the peep hole and didn't see anything. After a few seconds, I saw a white dog (some type of pitbull looking dog) and it was jumping on and looking up at my door. I never opened the door but he acted like he saw me and started to bark. I felt bad for not letting him in because it is so cold out but I am allergic to dogs and I also don't know if he was nice or not. Well, this went on for about 3 minutes and then he went around to the back yard for a bit. It kinda creeped me out but I felt bad for him at the same time. We don't really have strays in the area. I don't have any animals. Why did he come to my house? lol
