Well, I can only tell you about pomerainians. I have had 2 in my lifetime. They are very smart dogs, but bark a lot. They make good watch dogs. Not very good with small children, but they are very loyal. They do shed a lot. When I say that, I mean, you will see hair floating around the room. If you brush them regularly, it's not so bad. They are very much lap dogs. They are too cute to describe, though. Good luck with your choice.
