My dog has been having mucus in his stool? What does that mean?

It's kinda thick and it smells really bad. I have read about dog's and cleaning their anal glands. Does anyone have any ideas on if that might be the reason?

Could be worms.Could be respertory problem...He could have a cold..Virus...Take him to the vet..

Google it. Then take your dog to the vet. Immediately. Only the vets, who have been trained and educated about this stuff, can really tell you what's wrong. It's obviously not normal... it could be something easy like needing his/her anal glands expressed, but even if it's just that, I'd visit the pet doctor... that's probably not something you want to attempt to do yourself.
