Ok so My dog is acting wierd.... He is a lil more aggressive now and is usually a very playful and loving dog. he is a year and a half. and he has been hiding under my bed... there is nothing under there either that he would want.... I recently moved from NC to AZ. He is used to roaming the house and now since i moved back in with the parents, i have to keep him in my room. Why is this... is he sick?? or does he miss home???

Moving isn't easy for a dog. He has been through a lot.
The stress of a big move can be really awful for a small
dog. Sounds like a Dachshund or Yorkie behavior.
He was use to his home and freedom. Now he is where
he is unfamiliar and shut away. Being shut up, only reinforces
his belief that things are not okay and he should hide. You
are spending a lot less time with him than before. What
he is missing is your companionship. He will be aggressive because he is scared alone. You were his moral support.
Take him out and play with him like you use to do. You need to build his confidence. Let him know everything will be fine. By
exploring his new home and yard. How about a walk around the block, to meet new friends. Easy on the hugs and praise, until he is more his old self. You don't want to reward the poor behavior.

dashhounds like going under things like beds and covers thats where they feel safe. going under the bed is his safe place.

he's having problems with feeling safe in his new home
when you lived in NC Where u the only person that the dog was around in the house? if so this could also be his problem not used to having other people around.
and he's was used to roaming about the house and felt safe about diong so. i think he's depperessed because he's shut up in just one room.he needs to get out of the room more, being shut up in a room is not good for any animal or human. you have to ask your self how u would feel being shut up in a room ,when u where used to going about doing what u wanted or going where u wanted. yes i have a dashound and mine hides under the bed or covers at times.which is when she is in just one room .your dog will be ok yes he's problemly a little home sick.

My old roomates had a dog that was playful when it was a puppy hen when it got about a year old it starting acting strange barking at evryone and being scared 24/7 Im thinking something spooked it. I hope this is not the case with your dog. Good Luck.

Sounds as though he is a little fearful of his new invironment. Sure you can rationalize the change because you are a human, he doesn't have that ability. He doesn't know everything will be fine, you should try taking him on walks letting him get out and see his new area so he can adjust and see that he is okay and that you are still there with him.

Absolutely he misses his old familiar home. He's not sure where home is, so get him out and sniff around. Take him on walks so he can smell the new area and make his own mark so he feels "at home" in his new territory. He'll get used to it. Just got to let him tour the whole house and property. Good luck!

He is not acting weird. Even a person has a period of adjustment. Maybe he finds your new house a little strange. Eventually he will get used to his new environment and will be back to his old self.

Staying in your room is taking its toll on him I'm sure. Please get him out for walks and exercise twice a day if possible!
