Your pup is so lucky that you care to feed the very best..You won't find any kibble worth feeding at the grocer's..I recommend Canidae (my fave) or Innova, natural Balance, Wellness, Wysong or Solid Gold...You will find most of those at your local pet supply shop, but not likely at the large chain pet shops.

I have a small Maltese x pom and she eats Orjin Puppy food..It is found in a pet store and has all the nutrition she needs and she really likes it..It costs about 15.00 per bag but a bag lasts about 3.5 months ..It has no by products or fillers there fore what she eats,,her body uses so less poop in the yard..I give her small tastes of what I am having as well but just as a treat..All dogs should be given good quality food ,most store brands are full of fillers and way to much chicken by product and that is not good any dog.....Good luck....Talk to your vet and see what their advice is as well.....

Its great that you want to make sure your puppy gets the very best nutrition. I have two chihuahuas right now, and have had many many different dogs in my lifetime. I've learned that you DON'T have to buy the most expensive food out there. Most of them arent anything special. of course id Never feed my dogs cheap dollar store food, Choose a med priced well ballanced, nutritional, hard food. like Purina or Pedigree. I feed my chihuahuas Purina puppy chow, and I've had many compliment from my vet on their weight, and shiny coats. Whatever you do, dont choose soft food, Its very bad for their teeth, Dont drive yourself crazy over it. as long as you choose a nutritional food, make sure they always have water, and lots of love, You will have a healthy happy dog!!!! Good Luck!!!

My little Pom Foxy, eats soft dog food by Pedigree. She loves chicken from the grill, Banana Pudding Ice Cream and one of her favorites is Cheddar (medium) Cheese. All in small bites and loves to be hand feed. Do not give her chocolate.

I would never give any dog manufactured food. I cook up a pot of rice and mixed veges, then mix it altogether with fresh mince or finely diced fresh meat. Most manufactured food is full of fat and offal...too much offal is not good for them, and apart from that it makes their farts really stink!!
