NO
you can give it cold, even frozen (I use to give my rottie frozen ones as it would take longer to eat).
Under NO circumstances do you heat or give cooked bones as they splinter and cause blockages in the bowel

No, it is NOT true. You can give a raw bone to a dog just like it is.

Raw bones will not give a dog worms and will not make it sick. Dogs are designed to eat/chew on raw bones naturally.
Cooking, braising, boling, microwaving etc should not be done. It can cause the bone to become brittle and unsafe for the dog.

Rawhide bones should NEVER be dipped or soaked in water or any liquid. As for rawhide bones they aren't really good to give to dogs unless they are the pressed variety and came from untreated rawhide.Rawhide can cause choking, impaction, blockage, diarreha, vomiting and if treated with chemicals they can be toxic. We see a lot of problems with these at the hospital where I work.

NO! In fact, it amazes me that these people are actually claiming to be vets and vet techs, because in truth you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who works in the field who approves of raw hides. Rawhides are not the best things to give your dogs. They are extremely harmful and I have personally seen many deaths and expensive surgery bills thanks to rawhides and "natural" bones.

Just look at the hides! They get soft when your dog chews on them, pieces break off, and the dog swallows them. These pieces that were once soft, harden back up and cause intestinal blockages resulting in death. I have seen intestines and bowels LITERALLY ripped to shreds at the hands of rawhides.

The rawhides you buy at the store, even high end pet stores, are not "natural." They are pieces of hide that have been compressed, and compressed, and compressed some more until they turn into something very hard and undigestable. The only reason they can make the claim "natural" is because they are made of natural pieces, and because there is no organization that regulates these claims like human grade food has. The truth is that the process rawhides, pig's ears, and the like go through makes them very UNnatural.

If you chose to still harm your dog with rawhides or pig's ears, I would at least ask you NOT to heat it up or get it wet .. all this would do is speed up the process that is no doubt taking place inside your dogs body. At least give him a fighting chance.... until the group of vets I work with can get these ridiculous things banned.

No....the point of a rawhide bone is to keep the dog entertained with something that it will be chewing on for awhile. If you dip it in water you'll make the bone soggy and it will just dry up when the dog is done chewing.

Your dog's saliva will naturally soften the rawhide. You can learn more about rawhide and raw bones on the following page listed in the source box.

Nope not true. Just give it to them and they'll eat it.
