My 8 week old pup was diagnosed yesterday with parvo. He was a pound pup and got it from there. I took him to an emergency vet clinic last night and over the night he went from being barely able to move to barking his head like a maniac to let him out of his cage. His temp also dropped from 105.7 to 103.6. I took him to my reg. vet this morning for more care and he said that my dog is wheezing and may also have pneumonia. He says this will drop my dogs odds from around 80% survival rate to 50%. I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with parvo or possibly the combo of parvo and pneumonia. I want my baby to live!!!

The most important thing with Parvo is to push fluids. Using a turkey baster force fluids at the back of his mouth. With Parvo they get very dehydrated with puking and the squirting poops.

If you can get some of the outer bark of a cotton wood tree and 3 cockle burrs and 3 cups of water, let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Let it cool and force that fluid. This has helped many pups get through parvo.

Good luck and I pray your pup pulls through.

Your Vet Would Know. Parvo alone is a very serious illness. Most don't survive. I know you love your baby but you can't let him suffer for the sake of your own feelings.

Oh my goodness, i'm sorry! i hope your puppy makes it! :(
it's going to be rough keeping your puppy hydrated, and he'll be pooping blood and all.
but you can make it through it, just try giving him constant bedside manner- although your vet will probably inject him with fluid to keep him hydrated, your best bet is leaving him in the care of the clinic.

if you can keep him from vomiting, give him small doses of Nutri-Cal puppy formula!
its a supplement that will help keep his blood sugar high, and i figure it'll help in some fashion.(its a tasty liquid paste, but you'll probably have to force him to swallow)
you can buy it from Petsmart or Petco or even pets supermarket.

Good luck, let us know if he makes it! <:(
