Breed:
Well, you say that you want a dog that does'nt need a lot of exercise, has long hair, and the price. Well, the first place to go is the pound or shelter. That's where the best, cheapest, and most devoted dogs are. They are usually the ones who have been throught a lot and will give anything ro have a home. I know you said you wanted a long hair dog, but I have a breed that does'nt have long hair but WILL be very devoted to you. A beagle. I have to and they are ABSOLUTELY the BEST dogs you could ever have. They don't need a lot of grooming, they don't need a lot of exercise, and they seriously count on you (VERY DEVOTED!!) But, if you REALLY want a dog with long hair, take this survey on this site, it's awesome!!! You will get a list of dogs that would be best for you. I still like the idea of going to an animal shelter, that's where ALL the best dogs are. I've heard of SO MANY great stories on how the "stray guys" help their new owners out. Please, take my word on it.

I have a beagle and he is great. However, if you want a dog with longer hair, you should check out the Havanese. The dogs are usually 10-15 lbs., so more substantial than a little pocket pup. They are also hearty, healthy and hypoallergenic. Havenese are very affectionate and mild-mannered.

Puppies range from about $700 - $1500.

The breed is from the Meditteranean and Spanish royalty often had Havanese, so maybe a Spanish name like "Isabella" would work.

got to a website like dogbreedinfo.com take the find a perfect dog quiz. This will list breeds which will fit your life style. Remember a dog is a 10-15 year commitment. Do you really want a puppy? They poop everywhere are you are going to have to house train it. They dont do it themselves. You may want to find a rescue for breeds you are interested in. You may be able to get a 1, 2, 5 whatever year old dog which is housetrained. just a thought.

Go to the shelter and see what they have there. Mix breeds are great dogs. Get an older dog - a senior citizen I mean.

Adoption is usually less than $100 for a shelter dog and s/he'll be spayed/neutered, up to date with shots, dewormed, and all-too happy to have a nice home.

Older dogs are a lot more mellow than puppies. And you really can teach older dogs tricks, obedience, and all that stuff you thought you would have time for with a puppy.

Oh yes, and older dogs are usually house-broken - big bonus

hmm well long haired that dont need a lot of exercise, it depends on the hair though. Irish setters are great dogs but that may have too much hair. Do want a big or small dog and do you like ones that have long tails. How much land do you own? Well labs i consider to be great dogs i have trained them since i was little and they are very loving however they need to be let out to run once in awhile. Every dog needs a little amount of exercise. I guess a pekenese are very hearty and dont need a lot and tey also have longer hair and so do pomeranians but they are very yippy dogs but they like to be cuddled with have long hair and they may need exercise but since they are small they dont need a lot to tire them out. hope this helps sorry i would guess on names but you have to know the dogs personality.

Pappillions are great !!! They are about the size of a chihuahua, but they have long soft hair. My husband wanted a "fluffy" dog so I got him one & he loves it. They have incredible personalities and are very passive. He will get rowdy and play with you though. They only down side is that with any small dog, they can get yappy every once in a while, but like I said, that's with any small dog. My doesn't do it very often.
Price range varies. I got mine for $350. But I live in a small town. In a bigger area you can pay anywhere from that price to $1000.00 for one. I would say average it out to $600.00.

a yorkshire terrier! they are tiny and stay small so dont need a lot of exercise. that have longer hair as well. u can get them diff sizes the bigger the cheaper because most people want smaller ones. i have a 3 pound one and she was 1000. my friend and boss have one that is 41/2 pounds and it was only 750. so if that is to much get one that is a little bigger. u can find one that is 400 that is around 51/2-6 pounds.

My sister has a border terrier that doesn't get much exercise. But unfortunately, I don't know the price. You can probably get one for a good price at the animal shelter.

I own a miniature Schnauzer. He is extremely smart, fun and loving does require some exercise he loves to play. He cost me $300.00 because I bought Him when he was 4 months. He doesn't shed and I groom him every three months. Here's a web so you can see different breeds :)
