My dog just bit someone at the park for no reason. There was a scratch not a puncture, but this was through jeans, long johns and socks. He did come back afterwards. He was off-leash.

He has on occasion gone after loose coat sleeves, and the odd time he tugs peoples pant legs if they are on a bike (generally if they are drunk, he really hates drunk/stoned people).

He is a rescue dog and I used to muzzle and leash him at all times, but after some intensive training I thought we had him under control. However I usually have him on an electric collar but it has been broken for a month. He can still be a little snappy a

I literally am so upset right now I can't think. My husband just went out and met up with the person and gave them some money so they (in theory) aren't going to sue or report us (which is good because our dog isn't registered -long story)

Would you go back to muzzling the dog. Or I could give him to my mom who now lives in the country. Or I could put him down

There is a show on CNBC, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, aired this week I think, in which they showed a new breed of dog that apparently will be the next big thing. Its a mix of like 5 different breeds, I believe it has yet to be approved by the AKC.

For about a year now, my border collie Jasper has been finding a way to get out of our fenced yard. He runs on busy roads, in peoples yards, and doesn't come home for hours. I had my fence fixed, because there was a hole in it, and he stopped escaping for a while. Now that there's snow on the ground [and it doesnt look like its going anywere fast] and lots of it, he's getting out again. He can easily jump over the fence because there's not much to jump over. About 3 weeks ago, I got 3 pit bull puppies, and lately, the 2 boys have been taking off with Jasper. Because I live in the middle of 4 busy streets, and the roads are icy, I'm worried that they might get hit. I have leashes that I can tie them up on, but they're currently burried underneath snow. And no, I will no consider an electric [under ground] fence.

My dog keeps digging right by the fence and just leaves. I dont know if its because the other dog we had got lost, but she keeps trying to make holes so she can leave... If you have any ideas on how to stop her from digging or at least to keep her from leaving because we have to run out and look for her almost everyday

Got a new dog from the pound 2 weeks ago. Storm is a female staffie x Lab aged 7 months. When we got her home she was making a grunting noise (like a humans athsma attack, gasping for air) It last only for a few seconds. She didnt seem distressed about it. We had already booked her in for the next morning with our vet for a full check up. Luckily Storm did it again while having the vet exam and the vet told us she may have something caught behind the palets in her mouth and need to go under the scope. We took her back after a few days (The attacks are seldom) and we seen the practice manager at the vets (He cared for our previous dog who had cancer and was awsome) Anyway he said that it is not anything caught behind her palet but a minor virus she must have had at the pound. He prescribed anitibiotics for 7 days Monday is the 7th day of the treatment and her attacks are few but still happening. Should I insist she has the scope or see if he wants to do anything else first?
