I can tell you for certain, he has no pitbull or shar pei in him. Yes I do know what breeds he has in him, seen his mom and dad when I got him.

Ok have to add in he has no Ridgeback or boxer in him either. Good guesses so far though.

Ok some additional info on him - He is just slightly over 80 pounds now, he did have his tail docked as a baby, as both his mom and dad had theirs done. Both his mom and dad are purebreds.

He looks like a Rottweiler mix to me.

He definetely has the Mastif head but the body resembles a boxer but with too broad of a body. The body looks more like a rottweiler but the black coloring of a rot would be a dominant trait over the brown. It could possibly be an American Staphshire Terrier mixed with a Bulmastif which would create a Pit Bull but with such loose skin he has to be mixed with something else.

maybe a type of mastiff labby cross with a little hound or ridgeback for flavoring?
Or Am Staff, Labby, hound or ridgeback.
Whatever he is, he's a really good looking dog. He was an adorable pup and grew up to be a handsome boy.
UPDATE:
I keep looking. I still think Mastiff somthing...maybe Mastiff Vizsla?

OK, OK...now I see what you are doing. 10 pts. to the person who knows what kind of dog it is. Alright...its not a Fila. How bout a run of the mill American Bulldog? OR How bout a South African Boerboel. The boerboel looks uncannily close to your dog...but I'm still not sure. Maybe a Broholmer? Sometimes they have their tails docked but not traditionally.

Looks like a Rhodesian ridgeback or a ridgeback cross boxer. most likely the latter

I'd have to guess, a Pitt, Mastiff Mix...maybe...there could even been some Boxer in there. Cute puppy! He looks like a sweet boy!

He looks like a Cane Corso or Boerboel to me. They are the only breeds that I can think of that will look like him that traditionally have a docked tail.

okkkk......I've seen this breed of dog b4 but can't remember what the name of it was for the life of me. Been several years since I worked in a kennel and all the employees were guessing what she was mixed with. Owner said she was a purebred and told us the name but grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......I'm frying my brain trying to remember.
