I would recommend ONLY getting one through rescue or from a GOOD breeder. This means not all those trashy people who breed pet quality dogs in order to make money. NO newspaper ads, internet ads, internet sites, or anything like that.

http://www.pbrc.net/ is a rescue site, and yes, they frequently have puppies, but they can also get you on track to finding a good breeder. Remember, a good breeder need not be expensive, but they can be less expensive in the long run.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. There is about 50 zillion pit bulls at many local shelters and rescues and often the brindles are the hardest to adopt. Check www.petfinder.com

Go to a pound! Save their life! So many pitbulls get killed every single day! Be kind! I am so sorry for your loss. You can find pitbulls of all colors, ages, and personalities at a shelter. You can find such wonderful pitbulls there that will become super thankful for saving their lives. You can also go to petfinder.com. Good luck and again sorry.

I highly recommend that you go to a competent breeder that can provide a Pedigree. These dogs are well bred and lack the same temperament as those that are bred to fight. These dogs are bred in peace and quite w/lots of TLC and not tied to stakes and roughed up all the time.

It is buyer beware so be careful and watch that you are getting a "pure" bred and not a pup that should have been culled that a breeder is trying to pass off as pure bred.

Your best bet would be to contact your local SPCA, Humane Society or shelter. You can also try searching the web to find rescue groups.

p.s. - the color is Brindle.
