I found her and no one claimed her-so I didn't get to do alot of research or learn her history..but she's fairly good, and getting better all the time...but she started doing this peeing any where on the carpet a while back, and it usually seemed to be that we waited to long to take her out. Well, after a spell of loose bowels - I had placed her in 2nd bathroom and let her "mess" that didn't happen outside-stay in there. I did notice a VERY strong, non bowel odor, but figured it was something else. Then she peed once in my truck and the smell was GOD AWFUL. I figured it had to do with the loose bowels, which were from changing her food..i didn't know. Now she is peeing in her sleep - not having even raised an eyelid...she is peeing all over the beds, and even random areas of the carpet.and this is happening even after we JUST walked her, and never in the same spot. I've not seen blood or crystals AND NO ODOR whatsoever now. What could be going on & if we go to vet - what test R needed?

My puppy and I are working on housebreaking, and so far it's going fairly well. I think. I've never had a puppy, so I don't know, but anyways...

I have puppy pads laid out in my room because it's way too cold out for me to be confortable taking a puppy with thin-ish fur outside to "go" and it takes too long to get a sweater on her. She seems to like the sweater and cooperates when I do put it on her. She even gets "mad" at me when I take it off. She knows that when she does something right she gets a treat, and she's figured out she only gets it when I'm paying attention, so when she has to potty at night she'll go over to the pad, check if I'm watching and bark to get my attention. Then she'll go. If she gets up at night and goes, she'll wake me up afterwards to gain her reward. It's the funniest thing.

And don't reprimand me for not crate training. I don't think it's cruel, I just don't have the heart to listen to her whine.

Ok, first of all I am against breeding dogs because there are already enough dogs that deserve loving homes and have none. Nevertheless, I have a question... I have noticed alot of dog people bashing others for not having their pets spayed/neutered, and i have noticed that their is alot of intolerance towards people who have dogs that arent fixed, but are not allowed to reproduce. I can understand being angry at someone for conciously contributing to the pet overpopulation accidentally or irresponsibly. What I am asking is, what reason is there to bash someone who decides to have an unaltered dog that is never allowed to reproduce, or if they are it will be planned, and all the pups and parents will be cared for lifelong by the dogs caretaker. In case of accidents owner also takes full responsibility for the lifelong care of all offspring. So what is wrong with not contributing to the shelter problem, but still having an unaltered dog? If all the dogs are guaranteed lifelong care

I have a 4.5 month shih tzu puppy...I've had him for about 2 months and its time i start school so i need to start leaving him alone at home. Ive been trying to get him used to it but everytime I leave he barks and crys (very loud) until i come back. One time I left him for 5 hours and when I came back he was still barking!! Its a big problem because I live in an apartment and everybody has beenn complaining lately! So now everytime I need to go somewhere I have to have someone watch me (its not that he has to be with me, he just doesnt want to be alone). Ive tried everything, toys, leaving the tv on, going away in small amounts and making them longer each time
does anyone know what I should do?

im sure youre all pretty familiar with me and my puppy tracer. lol bc i ask something all the time about her :(
well now its distemper!! her parvo came back positive because she was vaccinated the day before.... now im on the hunt for a holistic vet somewhere within a few hundred miles of north louisiana. Ive come across a few in dallas but its 12am and i cant call em now. me and my husb will be dressed and ready to go in the morning around time vets open so im going to need a few more options!! ive got 2, and 1 in new orleans (but thats like 6 hours away) does anyone know of any searches i can use for that? or know of any in that area (long shot, i know)
ive done my homework and decided holistic is the way to go... but theyre hard to find around here! i wouldve gone today- but the "tell tale" sign of distemper just showed up this afternoon. before i knew nothing about distemper! and i trusted that my vet knew everything! anyway... any holistic advice? where to look?

I have 11 dogs (most are saved) they range from a hairless chihuahua to the most exotic mix of who-knows-what and somehow out of all the sweet dogs in the world, MY DOGs are, clearly, the bestest! They have good sugar, too. Somebody let me know what wonderful thing did I do? Or is it luck? I tend to think it's divine. I'm not saying yours aren't great it's just that mine are ...well...better. (smile)

The neighbor's pitbull broke through my fence again, but this time, my akc Yorkie has disappeared. It is obvious that the pitbull killed it. The neighbors won't discuss it, but did get rid of the dogs after they came after me 2 wks later. Coincidently, the day their dogs left is the day my cat disappeared. I want to deal with their homeowner's insurance but they refuse to give me any info. How can I find out? The fence has been chewed through in several places and I want my pedigree dog replaced at some later date.
