they coats are short usually bristle/hard. and will become even harder or even change color if u bathe them regularly. plus they shuld be ((brushed only)) give them a bath only when seriously needed.

The BBC news item below (Jan 2007) tells how a Pit Bull terrier savagely killed a 5 year old girl and almost killed her grandmother. The dog was owned by the little girl's uncle.
These dogs are banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs act of 1991. The Pit Bull is the FIRST dog to be specifically identified under this law and it is an offence to breed them or to sell them. The clear intention of the law is to rid the UK of all Pit Bull Terriers.
However you try, you cannot justify the risk to children. It would be better to rid the world of these dogs than to have one more little girl die in this horrific way. Enough said....I hope.
Get yourself a nice friendly dog. There are plenty to choose from.

Generally speaking pitbull breeds are short hair, and they have no undercoat, so its short, and thin fur. Surprisely though, it is super soft and sleek, not coarse. It is great for those that are allegic to dogs as they shed very little and are super clean dogs.
