What are you going to do if your dog attacks a small child with their face at just the right height to be badly hurt? Send roses to the hospital where the kid is being stitched up? I hate small dog owners who wont take responsibility for their viscious dogs. They are always the first people screaming for blood if a large dog attacks someone. My bull arab (230lbs, soft and squishy dog) needed stitches in his neck after a jack russel attacked him in his own yard and the owners just laughed when i wanted them to pay the bill and make their yard more secure so the rat couldnt get out. The same dog attacked my son(in my front yard) and caused stitches. They wanted me to pay vet bills after i broke 2 of its ribs, kicking it off my 2 year old son. It took 4 months to prosecute the owners and apply to have the dog destroyed. My son wasnt the only one bitten by the dog, 2 of my other neighbours kids got nipped (one needed 4 stitches) as they walked past on the way home from school. In my eyes small dogs that bite are almost worse than large dogs because they will bite again and people will tolerate it more but they can almost be just as dangerous.

You should send him an assortment of chocolate or a fruit basket with a note that says sorry neighbor.

I would send him proof that the dog is in a training school. What was the cause of the attack? Did your neighbour kick your dog or does your dog suffer from small dog syndrome where it was never properly exercised, disciplined or trained because its "small, cute, easy to control and couldn't hurt anyone."

Either way, take you and your dog to puppy school and send proof with an apology note to the neighbour.

That might come off as a bit gay. How about an apology face to face? And remember - an apology is not an admission of guilt!!
