its best to stick to just regular dog food. especially the dry food and only mix the wet stuff with dry once in a while for a treat. The dry crunchy food and treats help to scrape off plaque from the teeth. Also, for a kind that is better on tummys, if your dog gets gas or runny poo or throws up, the lamb and rice flavor food instead of beef or those other flavors. once in a while, if your dogs can stomach it.....some cooked fish, WITH OUT BONES, or scrambles eggs. Keep in mind it should be just enough for a treat, not a meal. keep the food consistant, if you change brands, then slowly mix in the new brand with the old so they dont get "mud butt".

The best thing is to keep them on dog food and not human food. But if your dog is like mine, it's probably spoiled and gets your left overs.
Chocolate, of course, is bad...dairy isn't really all that good, definitely do NOT give them grapes or raisins (heard a vet once say that a dog ate seven raisins and died).
Don't ever give them chicken bones or any bones that have been cooked. You can give them raw beef bones for instance, but not cooked beef bones. The bones become soft and can splinter causing the dog to choke.
My dog will eat anything, so you have to really watch what they are eating or getting into...just like being a parent!

Dogs Can't Eat:
Raisins
Grapes
Chocolate
Cooked bones
Garlic
Onions
Broccoli
Pears
Coffee / tea (and other caffeine drinks)
Wheat / yeast
Potato peels
Beer and alcohol
If your dog eats these, call the vet. Don't panic though, every dog is different. My dog (he's 15 pounds) ate almost 2 pounds of grapes and wasn't even affected, while that would kill most dogs.

can eat (depending on the breed and age) dry and healthy foods but not cans because they put on the weight too fast. Dogs like vegetables also like humans. If you are not sure check with your vet or go to the local library and they have books on dog handlings. Also look at Googles Ask and they will help you. The website is Ask.com...

Dogs do best on natural foods. A good dog food with chicken as the first ingredient in the ingredient list is usually a good food. Look for a dogfood that does not have corn as an ingredient. Many times corn causes dogs to have digestion problems & makes them fat. Dogs also like to eat raw fruits & vegetables like carrots, broccoli, & apples. Dogs also love to have an egg occasionally. Raw eggs are good for them, but they also like them cooked. If you feed them garbage like weinies it is very bad for them because of all the salt preservatives fat & nitrates. It will also cause your dog to be a picky eater, or it could cause him to be sick. If you do not like to clean up messes from a sick dog, be careful what you feed them.

They can't eat basically anything but dog food, ESPECIALLY CHOCOLATE!!!! DO NOT GIVE ANY DOG, OR ANY OTHER ANIMAL FOR THAT MATTER, CHOCOLATE!!!!! IT CAN GIVE THEM A HEART ATTACK THAT HAS A HIGH CHANCE OF KILLING THEM!!!! Anything else will just basically make them throw up, like my dog just did. *grrrr*

no pure chocolate, no grapes, no onions, no chicken bones
yes to small amounts of cheese, apples, carrots too and small amounts of peanut butter
if ever they get a hold of some bad stuff, force them to drink hydrogen peroxide then take to vet. makes them puke. and buys you time to get to vet.
