My dogs stay in a pen outside during the day while we're at work(long story, but they like to dig under the part of the fence that doesn't belong to us). I have equipped the pen with a wooden pallet for them to sun bathe on, water and food, sun shade, a grassy area and a dog house with plastic flaps. As my puppy is getting bigger, the pen is getting smaller! I need to buy a new, bigger pen, but I hate to just discard this one. It is 5 x 8. To put it together, you assemble the poles, then wrap the chain link around it and secure it. Is there something I can buy to expand this one? Does anyone have any experience with this? Any relatively inexpensive ideas? I have 2 cockers and a 7 month basset.

Somebody almost killed my doggy! I was on the computer when I started to hear my dog barking. I went outside to see him, when I saw him he was choking! I ran up to him and saw that someone tied his leash that we use on him around his neck. but he also had a collar which was what the leash was hooked to, so i tried to get his leash and his collor of his neck, but it was to tight, so i went running inside my house to find some siccors. when i found them i cut his collor, but the leash was still choking him, i couldnt cut the leash because its made out of some sort of cable (we stoped using leashes made out of rope because he bites through them) so i couldnt cut the leash. I tried unhooking it , but it was to tight and i was having trouble unhooking it, this went on for 5 minutes untill i finally unhooked the leash and he finally started breathing . he was choking like that for almost 15 minutes, he seems okay right now. but what can i do to help him, and is he going to be okay.

I was driving in the Mojava Desert and stop to rest and unwind. I had my dog Bobby with me and my two kids. After we all got out of the car on the side of the road, we couldn't see nothing but sand for miles. Bobby seem like he was thirsty and hungry so I asked my son Jeffrey to put some food in a tin plate bowl we brought with us. I heard a loud blast or something that startled me and I remembered dropping my keys in the dogs bowl. My immediate concern was my kids so I didn't think about what I did then.
I never did find out where the blast came from. When it was time to leave quite naturally we couldn't. We all looked for the keys thinking that I was mistaken about the keys. But I never did find them. Fortunately, a trucker was coming up the road so we got a ride. I ended up taking Bobby to a vet and they finally came out naturally. My question is this: What if the trucker never did come up the road? And this became a question of survival. What would you do?

I was eating my marmite sandwich while watching the News on the television. My dog, who was sitting on the mat beside me, got up and barked at me. It sounded like: "Karl!" Then he uttered: "kkkKKKarl?" As if it was a question. I did something a bit weird. I replied: "What?". Then the dog uttered: "Walkkkk!"

So I patted him on the head and said clever boy and took him out for a walk. Has anyone experienced this before?

Please hurry your reply as the dog wants to check out Google Earth.

the noisey pill head neighbour from upstairs moved all her stuff out of the flat yesturday.

i was getting ready to celebrate coz she has been so annoying and noisey with no consideration to anyone else who lives in our block.

she packed up all her stuff and dismantled the furnature and got 2 mates to help her move out.

the thing is i dont know if she is coming back coz she left one of her dogs (the one that barks at anything) in the flat. it sounds like it is shut in the kitchen. i didnt hear it untill tonight after i got back from college.

the local rspca doesnt have an emergency call out number.
i dont know where the lass has moved to.

what should i do?

We have an 8 year old pomeranian. We've had him since he was a puppy. Over the last couple years he's developed bad habits and a slight sickness which is just coughing it seems. His bad habits mainly are marking territory.
We don't want to put him in a shelter at all. He may not get along with all other dogs. But he loves kids and he's such a boy himself and loves to play ball and stuff.
We are so afraid that a shelter will not look into what would be the best home for him and I'm afraid of posting anything on the internet to find a potential family for him.
I hate the idea of giving him away cuz I'm grown attatched. I seem to be the only one who cares about him anymore.
Do you have any suggestions on what I could do to make sure he gets a good home?

I have this blonde German Shepard and she jumps on who ever tryes to play with her. We adopted her from the pound and they told us to bring our knee up when she started to jump but now she has learned to land on our knee. My grandfather tries to use a rolled up newspaper to make her get down but that doesn`t really work either. So does anyone have any good suggestions as to what I should do, or if anyone nows of a good training book that would help me.

I am absolutely in love with chihuahuas. I am strongly considering getting one within the next six months. I have no other animals and it's just me and my boyfriend in our townhouse. I have heard mixed things about chihuahuas... that they are 'yippy' and bark all the time, that they are mean, that some are so sweet and that they are loyal to their owner, etc... Anyone with a chihuahua able to offer some insight from their own experiences? Any advice, especially how to choose a calm chihuahua and where to buy it, would be greatly appreciated!

Our pomeranian likes to retreive the cats poop out of the litter box and hikes on it....also hikes on the litter box.
My sister moved in recently with her dogs, a boy and a girl. The girl retrieves the cats poop and she also pee's on it. And the boy hikes on the litter box.
This is disgusting. We don't have alot of places to put the litter box and we tried the covered litter box and it didn't work well for our cat.
We don't know how to stop this. We don't know why these dogs like to do this stuff. It's grossing us out. And we are defenatly not getting rid of our cat, she's such a sweety.
Anyone else gone through this at all?

Why do people want low maintenance when it comes to pets?

I mean it's a living breathing creature....that means responsibility. No cutting corners.
