What you're referring to is called coprophagia. It is very common, especially among young pups. Often, they'll just grow out of it. Other times, they're not getting enough nutrients or they're just bored. You have four options when it comes to stopping it.
1. Ask your vet which brand of puppy food is the best for your dog. Consider adding vitamin supplements. If she's on a good, quality brand of dog food, then consider if she has enough things to do during the day. Like I said, she could just be bored. If you're convinced those aren't the reasons she's doing it, keep reading...
2. Pick up all poop immediately. That way she won't have the opportunity to eat it.
3. Put some tabasco sauce on any piles of poop. That'll make the poop smell less tasty (to them, of course). Then, again, you might as well pick it up if you're going to all that trouble...
4. Also, there's some stuff called "Forbid" that you can sprinkle on the dog's food that will make their poop less appealing.

my dog has done that since he was a puppy, and it's seriously a hard habit to break..I want to say near impossible. I've heard many methods, but all have fell short for me...he'll still eat the poo if left unattended. The best advice I have is to walk your dog and then pick up after her right away. If you have a yard, it's also good to keep it picked up daily. When I had a yard, I tried watching and then picking up right after my dog went, but even then it became a sort of competition between us. He would turn right around and get some before I could get to it. It's crazy. Some say it's nutritional and they are lacking something, but I've supplemented and it seems to make it even tastier for him. Other's say put hot sauce on it, but you might get tired of carrying around tobasco sauce every where you go! You can also buy some stuff from your vet that you can crush up in their food that helps deter them from eating it.
Anyway..hope that helps!!

Horses, sheep, chickens, emu, rheas and ostriches, all eat their own stuff...Nearly all of the animals on our farm..Not the goats
Their mothers teach them to do that, as she eats it when they are infants, to keep the nest clean, and keep predators from finding the nest...and it just carries over, as to an animal there is nothing wrong with it..after all..mom did it..
You can add a soon of Adolf's Meat Tenderizer, to make it too bitter to want..or pineapple chunks will do the same, or a product at pet shops, called Forbid..they make the food taste OK, but not the poop
Otherwise, just be quicker than she is to pick it up..So she doesn't have to help you..

I don't know why dogs do this! It is so nasty and disgusting. It is a reminder that they are animals and an animal will act like an animal. You can try shamming him every time you catch him eating this Ugh! Let the dog know you don't like it when he eats poo.Hopefully he'll quit.

put a baby-gate across the doorway of the room that holds the litter box. The cats can easily scale over it, but your dog won't be able to. Keep it from getting to the litter box and you won't have to worry about him eating poop.

Whenever she goes to eat any poop, just stop her, and calmly tell her no and sort of re-direct her. She'll eventually figure out that you don't want her to do that.
