The heaviest dog in history, holding the record in Guinness book, was an English Mastiff named Zorba de la Susa from England. He weighed in at 343 lbs and was 8 ft 3 in long from nose to tail. Although that is not typical. English Mastiff males from good blood lines average about 250 lbs. St. Bernards average about 200 lbs for males. The Great Pyrenees, Newfoundlands, Neopolitan Mastiffs, and some of the other dogs mentioned usually top out at about 150-160 lbs. The Irish wolfhound is the tallest breed of dog but very lean like a greyhound.
