Somebody almost killed my doggy! I was on the computer when I started to hear my dog barking. I went outside to see him, when I saw him he was choking! I ran up to him and saw that someone tied his leash that we use on him around his neck. but he also had a collar which was what the leash was hooked to, so i tried to get his leash and his collor of his neck, but it was to tight, so i went running inside my house to find some siccors. when i found them i cut his collor, but the leash was still choking him, i couldnt cut the leash because its made out of some sort of cable (we stoped using leashes made out of rope because he bites through them) so i couldnt cut the leash. I tried unhooking it , but it was to tight and i was having trouble unhooking it, this went on for 5 minutes untill i finally unhooked the leash and he finally started breathing . he was choking like that for almost 15 minutes, he seems okay right now. but what can i do to help him, and is he going to be okay.

Why in the world is a dog tied outside unattended?

Profilers would say the person that wrapped the leash around your dogs neck is a potential, if not, criminal. I would file a police report, just in case someone is going around your neighbourhood doing that to other animals. It appears you have done most of what you could do. If you are still concerned about him, I would take him to the vet to have him checked out.

You should probably take him to the vet ASAP. If you know who the person that did this you could also call the police and you can go to court with that other person and get some money or something, because that is really scary how your dog almost died. He will be fine. Just make sure you take him to the vet.

Poor Baby! Do you know anyone around where you live, that you suspect would do something this cruel. If you know who it is, I would report them. You did a great job, in helping your dog. It's good that you were there and responded to him right away. You saved his life. It's a good idea though, to take him to the vet and have him checked and make sure that there was no damage done to his throat, from being choked. Good Job!

The top 2 things to do are:
1) Call your vet and ask them because they are professionals and will be able to help you better than people here.
2) Call the police and file a report. This kind of activity can not be tolerated because those who have a malicious will towards animals are more likely to escalate to violence towards humans. Violence against animals is a precursor to escalation of violence.

if you that worried call the vet and ask the question, but he should recover, but might be afraid of leashes for a while

most likely your dog will be fine. You may want to take him to the vet to make sure that his trachea is not severly bruised. If he is okay now he is most likely fine.
If someone did this to your animal you need to find out who it is. If it was done out of malice and they meant to harm your dog then you need to call the police and file charges.

Keep a close eye on him for a little while and if he seems to have any trouble get him to the vet.

Bring the dog to the vet. Hopefully it'll be alright.

That's just scary that someone would do that to your dog... get ahold of a vet immediately, not people on Yahoo Answers!
