My black lab decided last week he did not like his food, has happend before. Still ate his cookies and still was begging like dogs do. Bought new food, ate it up the first day, second day did not eat it until late at night, today has not eaten it. Puts his nose up to it.

There are currently two dogs in house: 1 wiener dog and one Doberman. Smell is not of dog urine or feces per se but rather of ... "dog"

Any help is much appreciated as this is the only thing that prevents us from making an offer on the house!

I don't want him to get ticks or fleas, and I'm not so sure how to prevent them. Also, I live in Arizona, so scorpions appear in the winter, and I saw one yesterday in the house. How do I protect my puppy while I'm not home? O_O"

I was married for twelve years but had no children, but I had something BETTER than children. I had a lovable chihuahua that I loved more I ever loved my children, but as a condition for a non-contested divorce, he got custody of her. Since I had to move outside the US, I agreed to let him keep her.

Recently, I found out that my ex husband had to give my precious chihuahua away because he couldn't afford to take care of her. I'm most heartbroken and everyone I talk to is minimizing my pain, saying "It's only a dog". Frankly, I don't think I would feel any worse if I had lost one of my human children.

I know there are millions of people who love their pets and consider them an integral part of their family. Why is it that not everyone understands that kind of love?

First, I want a breed that is very good with children especially toddlers, gets along with other dogs and cats. Second, I am considering a large or extra large breed. Finally, I want a breed that is protective, NOT AGGRESSIVE. I have been considering a mastiff breed or a German Shepherd. I have heard that boxers are also good, but the one that I have been around were too hyper. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My wife and I just adopted a great chihua/terrier mix from the San Francisco SPCA. He doesn't bark, is completely housetrained, is so very loveable but he has recently started growling. At first, he would growl very infrequently at anyone who would rush up behind him (which we thought was he was protecting his neuter wound). Now he growls at other dogs and strangers when going for walks. He sometimes will growl at me when he is hanging with my wife and I come up to pet him. He will not growl at my wife by the way.

Now we are lost. He is 1 1/2 years old and 99% perfect. I am very afraid of the growling though as it starts with growling and gets to worse .....

Has anyone experienced the same problems and does anyone have any ideas. He is going to 2 different obiedience training classes in the next 2 months so that should help. He has been socialized for the most part and for the first two weeks he didn't let out a growl at all. Any ideas???

getting a maltese in 3 days

2007-01-08 10:27:23 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous

I'm very interested in getting a pug. I'm still trying to convince my parents about getting one. I'm hoping that by learning about them i will 1)know more about how much of a responsibilty i can take 2)how much my parents will have to take 3)learn if they are the right breed for me, my family and etc etc.

So basically i want to learn everything about the breed. Everything from food, to care, to toys, to loving a pug.

So here are some of my specific questions:
1)how many times a day do pugs on average need to be walked?
2)how much attention and care would you say they need? do they usually need someone home at all times?
3)getting a pug? breeder or adopting online?
4)how much do the costs of pug care cost in general (ie food, medications, toys and treats)

and lastly;;
pros and cons please?
and also any ideas of how to convince my parents??

please help me!
Thank you!

She is not interested in a particular breed or even a full breed dog, just something that would fit in a pet carrier(small one). Her price range is around $300 - $500. What types would you suggest she looks for?

Ladies & Gentleman,

If your neigbor's child was in distress would you trespass to give aid?

If your neighbor's home was alight would you trespass to put the flame out?

If you neighbor's dog didn't have drinking water to would you trespass to provide it?

Is the dog's plight any different than the child or the property? I admit I have already trespassed to help the dog - what happens next?

What would you do for the dog?

Best wishes,

pup

He is a maltese mixed pomeranian and 6 months old. He's less than 10 pounds. He ate a reeses peanut butter cup one day, and I'm really worried because I heard that chocolate is toxic to dogs and can kill a dog. Please help!

We recently gotten a 2 year old Jack Russell female from someone who had been abused. Shes okay with my wife but scared to death of me. She stays under the bed all the time and tenses up when Im around her or runs the other way so I have to walk her around the house with a leash now just so shes around me. I walk her outside and she walks fine. I also have another Jack Russell and a Minuature Pincher both females. We've had her for 2 months now and theres been little or no improvement. Ive thought about buying anxiety medicine from 1800PetMeds to see if that works. Any ideas of how I can help her along faster?
