I take it you aren't an experienced "breeder" since you needed to ask this question.

Be aware that there is more to breeding then having a male 7 female. they both need to be at least 2 years old, they both need to have had and passed health tests (not just simple vet exams) they both need to have impeccible pedigrees, they both need to meet breed standard anything less and it is nothing more then irresponsible breeding.

My guess on your problem is: 1) one or the other isn't mature enough 2) the female is not in heat or if she is..isn't ready yet 3) they are both inexperienced 4) too much interferance from people 5) one or the other may not really like each other or 6) there is a health problem with one or both of them. It could be any of the abocve or a combination of things.

Also be advised that breeding your female is a big risk...be prepared for emergency c-sections, weak puppies, small or large litters, low/no milk production, mastitis, stillbirth and other problems.

I don't mean to sound rude, but if you were a breeder, you would know these things already. What are you going to do once the female is ready to deliver puppies if problems arise?

Have you had the necessary health testing on the dogs What kind of dogs are they? Are you breeding to better the breed or just because you want puppies? ? How old are the dogs? If they are brother and sister, you should not be mating them them.

There is so much more you need to learn before you start breeding. Don't expect to make any money from the pups. You could very well end up having to pay for a C-Section, too, depending on the size of your dog.

If this is your first attempt at breeding, I really think you need to do a lot more research. Please reconsider and have your female spayed.

No offence, but you are not a breeder and if you were you would not breed dogs simply to add more puppies to your family. Do yourself and the world a favour and adopt a puppy from a shelter.

First of all there are so many problems that can occur if your dogs should not be bred. You can give the puppies genetic flaws, you may cause aggressive dogs, etc.

Do the world a favour and spay and neuter your dogs!

why not adopt puppies that need homes, or buy from a reputable breeder so you know you are getting healthy properly bred puppies. she needs to be in season too. are both parents healthy, have you gone to your vet and told them you want to breed your dogs so they can screen for things like hip displasia, and other genetic disorders? In a non-demeaning way, i mean, I know puppies are cute, but you don't seem to know a lot about dogs if you are asking this question, and rarely to people who "just want cute puppies around" wind up with that. Get your two spayed and neutered and adopt a puppy or two. There are breed rescues if you are looking for any particular breed.

If you have to ask you are not a breeder. I would give my advice but I think in this case I will keep my mouth shut. As for the puppies I hope they stay cute or they might end in a shelter.Sorry so harsh but come on.

LOL! No, you are NOT a breeder. A breeder would not have to ask questions like this on a public board, they would have learned beforehand. You just happen to have a couple dogs.

Get them fixed. Adopt a cute little puppy at a shelter.

The female must be in season. If you want cute little puppies why don't you go to animal rescue and adopt?

Thanks for planning on bringing a few more dogs to the shelters! Do you seriously consider yourself a breeder? I would hope any animal lovers who read this refuse to give you any tips on how to get your dogs "in the mood".
