When you get your new puppy take him to the vet and discuss your concerns with him. He will choose the best flea and tick treatment for your pup. As far as leaving your puppy at home alone, crating him would be the best option. If you are concerned with the scorpions and him being crated. Set the crate up high on a table or such so he is out of reach of the floor. That should keep the scorpions away from him when you are not there.

I don't live in Arizona so I can't help with the scorpion problem, but for flea and ticks I use Revolution for my dog. It is once a month treatment, about $12 from the vet. It is a liquid you squeeze onto the back of the neck and it is absored into the skin. It is for fleas, ticks, and heartworms (which are the most serious). Hope this helps!

The best thing for fleas and ticks and even mosquito bites is k9 advantage. Scorpions is another thing. Maybe a crate for your puppy for when your not home with a bed for him and try to put it up where you know scorpions wont get to him. You also wanna watch him carfully when you are at home my dog and my friends do are attracted to moving things like spiders and ants. Hope it helps some how! Good luck!

i use advantage flea and tick medicine (avalible at your local vets office) i live in texas and the fleas and ticks both are horrible here and the advantage definatly keeps the bugs away, if your puppy is staying outside i would suggest cedar shavings in the bottom of his house and then but a blanket over the shavings to keep the fleas from calling your dog house home, about the scorpions i would use a insectacide to keep them away and get rid of any unnecisary rock, wood, garbage, clutter etc piles they like to hide in them...........check your local hardware store for an insecticide to prevent your pooch from getting stung.........good luck with your new pup!!!! ♥

Never buy flea products from a grocery store or department store. They are known to cause allergic reactions.
Buy a flea/tick preventative from your local vet. It's usually a monthly application.

i does not difficulty about it. when you consider that spays and neuters are extremely ordinary approaches the vets are quite experienced in it mainly. basically because he's been neutered does not propose that's going to strip him of his personality. it would want to have an result for a pair of days on the very maximum, as is straightforward in spayed or neutered canines, yet not lengthy. My canines, Gracie, were spayed an afternoon previously I followed her on the guard and he or she became a hyper little kit deal of ability. i do not imagine neutering or spaying is a terrible problem. It prevents undesirable domestic dogs that would want to more desirable than in all probability finally end up in shelters at the same time as there is already a wide overpopulation of unadopted animals because it really is. also at the same time as a canines is spayed, her existence is basically not risked through having domestic dogs. also, there's no such problem as a "chiweenie"- that's referred to as a dachshund/chihuahua blend, (no such problem as a "weenie" canines) blended-breed, or mutt. yet a "chiweenie" is a mix, and under no circumstances a breed.

If you want sheap stuff to protect your dog from ticks and fleas you can buy it at your local grocery store. I you want more expensive stuff that works better you can buy it at the vet office. Normaly all you do is put drops on the dog's back and it works well.
