Depends on why you would want to give the dog apsrin. If the animal is in chronic pain then I have used less than half of a baby asprin. But be careful doing so! Talk to you vet he can help more.

I was told by a professional K-9 trainer (who was told by his vet) that it is perfectly fine to give baby asprin to your dog for pain. Go by the weight. Vets want you to purchase medicine through them because the makeup is extremly high and profitable for them.

If they have chronic pain, then probably yes. A neighbor had a black labrador with chronic hip pain, and the vet advised aspirin to relieve it. But, check with your own vet first.
