Is this to do with his diet?... He was eating tripe and this had a similar effect...so i put him on burns minibites and they helped but my OH wont feed him this without adding tinned dog meat... I think this is what is causing the problem... (he has tesco's/morrison's own).

Are there any tinned meats designed especially to condition the dog's coat? or any other things that I can mix to the biscuits that will help?

(He's a long-coat chihuahua btw)

I have adopted my daughters dog, he was ill-treated early in life, not when my daughter had him but before that. Because of this abuse he does'nt like people either out for a walk or coming to the door. He shakes with fear and barks very loudly, which is good for burglers and such like but not my friends. It has put people off coming to see me as he frightens them. I try to calm him down but it takes ages. I really want to do this right as I abhor any violence to animals. Anyone got any ideas or gone through the same thing.

We both work days. I usually leave by 9:30 am and my husband is usually home by 5 pm. We are both very laid back people who are just looking for a companion to fit our personalities. We do not have any kids right now but it is a possibility for the future. Any advice?

My rescued pup leans against the door when we are leaving the house. we can hardly walk through the house because she stands on her hind legs jumping on us to pick her up. if i go in the bathroom and close the door, she will scratch at the door until i come out. when i sit at the computer, she scratches my arm or leg until i pick her up. she is really sweet and a joy to have, but it feels like she is obsessed. I want her to be happy and not depressed when i cannot pick her up. I take her for 1 mile walk everyday. my kids and i play with her. she has dog toys. I thought that maybe she needs another dog to keep her company, but she may be territorial and not like another dog. telling her "no" is not working. Does she need another dog playmate?

I'm not sure if it's mean to not leave it on or if it doesn't actually make any difference to my dog if it's on or off.

I rent out my apartment which is above a restaraunt. I know all of the people that live here very well since i have been living here for over 2 yrs now. I have a cat and a dog - my pup is a malti tzu (maltese and shih tzu mix) she is like my heart. she only weigh 3 lbs full grown! anyways i am just wondering are there any such stickers avail. for your windows or door to let people know to bust down ur door/window in case of a fire to let ur animals run out or to save them? i think about this b/c the restaraunt is a bar also and that means drunk people and that means ciggerettes and that can only get bad.... any thoughts?

I live with my girlfriend and her mom has a dog that she got when it was 6 months old. It is fun and friendly with me most of the time. When my girlfriends mom is around and i walk into the room the dog comes unglued and charges me barking and fangs showing. It is obviously protecting her but nothing anyone does can get it to stop. This aggression has gotten worse as time has gone on. He now gets right up to me snapping at my legs. It is a big dog (Lab/poodle)and quite scary. I am very good with animals and most dogs love me. I have been here since before the dog came and i don't abuse it. I have tried everything from being the one to feed it and play with it to using a paper to try to dicipline it ...it ate the paper so i stopped that... HELP ME

She is not very resposible with animals and has dumped several animals she has rescued on her parents. I want her to find a way to help animals with out filling our apartment with them, what ideas do you have?

I have a neighbour who I wouldnt like to approach as last time I did I got a mouth full of abuse, she has a staffie and she is obviously a lazy btch because she just lets it roam round our culdi sac sihtting where ever, (usually on my drive) My friend and I have both complained to our housing association and they keep saying they will send round the dog warden but they never do. Could I contact the dog warden direct because in the minute Im going to pay someone to kidnap the thing.

Alright, I will try to keep this simple. We have a puppy, and being a puppy, she gets VERY excited when company comes over. She loves to jump on people and squeal and she just gets VERY wound up. We are trying to train her manners, she has been very good with all of her tricks and other training, but this is a tough one.
Needless to say, my husband's kids are coming over today, and he promised them a surprise (the dog, of course. we have been keeping her hidden from the kids.)
Their mother is very..... strict, and, if they so much as go home with a scratch she will raise you know what. I know that she doesn't mind if they have a puppy, but I am terrified of the dog jumping on the kids. They are both 6, and the puppy is 10# Is there anything that I can buy at the pet store, or the drug store that I can give her to slow her down for today? I don't want to make her sleep or anything, just something to sedate her a little bit so she isn't as rambunctious as usual. Something SAFE. Thanks
